Having Particular Seal Patents (Class 192/85.54)
  • Patent number: 8910768
Abstract: Taught herein is a clutch control apparatus that suppresses oil leakage from a seal member of a hydraulic cylinder even when vibration occurs, without enhancing sealability of the seal member per se. The clutch control apparatus includes normally-closed first clutch, a hydraulic cylinder, a piston, a lip seal and a pressure holding control section. The first clutch is disposed between an engine and driving wheels and is held in engagement by an elastic force applied to the first clutch CL1 by a diaphragm spring. The lip seal is disposed on the piston and enhances sealability between the piston and a housing slide surface in accordance with an increase in hydraulic pressure in the piston chamber. When the first clutch is engaged, the pressure holding control section applies a hydraulic pressure to retain the sealability of the lip seal to the piston chamber while maintaining engagement of the first clutch.

  • Patent number: 8800740
Abstract: A method and device are provided for sealing a first oil environment, which is located on a first side of a movable piston guided in a hollow chamber, from a second oil environment, which is located on a second side of the piston. The piston can move back and forth in the hollow chamber between the two oil environments in the axial direction by a piston stroke length (d). Two annular seal elements are disposed around the movable piston so as to sealingly contact the inner circumferential wall of the hollow chamber. The annular seal elements are spaced from each other by at least a distance (D) in the axial direction that is greater than or equal to the piston stroke length (d).

  • Patent number: 8640844
Abstract: In a dry clutch, the space between dry-clutch plates and a bearing, which bearing is interposed between a first piston and a second piston, is blocked off. Also provided is a structure for supplying the bearing with lubricating oil, and thus it is possible to provide the dry clutch, without causing upsizing the bearing.

  • Patent number: 8636125
Abstract: A dual clutch actuation device generates the axial compression force required to compress a first and second set of frictional elements of a dual clutch module. Dual clutch actuation device includes a first and second annular piston. The annular pistons are arranged in concentric annular piston slots. Together the piston and annular slots form annular piston chambers. The actuation device further includes a first set of wiper seals and a second set of wiper seals disposed in a first and a second annular channel in each of the annular pistons. Advantageously, contamination of the piston chambers is reduced or eliminated through the wiping or cleansing action of the first and second set of wiper seals against walls of the annular slots formed in the housing of the actuation device.

  • Patent number: 8327991
Abstract: A slave cylinder and a release system, the slave cylinder being configured in particular as a CSC for a hydraulic system of a motor vehicle. While maintaining the axial extension of the working space of the piston axially moveable in the slave cylinder, the force for actuating the clutch is increased in that the pressure chamber is sealed by two sealing elements having different diameters, and in that at least one energy accumulator is disposed in the pressure chamber of the slave cylinder, the energy accumulator generating a preload on the clutch release bearing operative connected to the slave cylinder.

  • Patent number: 7938237
Abstract: A brake structure for a main shaft of a direct drive torque motor comprises a body, a direct drive torque motor, a main shaft and a brake assembly. The main shaft is provided for fixing the torque motor and the body, and the brake assembly is mounted between the body and the main shaft. An annular brake oil room of the brake assembly is positioned against the main shaft, and the brake seat subassembly has a thinner brake deformation wall formed between the annular brake oil room and the main shaft. The annular brake oil room utilizes its high pressure caused deformation to the brake deformation wall, thus achieving a braking effect by pressing the main shaft. Thereby, the present invention is easy to assemble, and not only can stop the main shaft quickly, but also has a greater locking force.

  • Patent number: 7841458
Abstract: A clutch assembly for use in an automatic transmission of a motor vehicle includes a drum movable about a rotational axis and having a generally annular recess for supporting components of the clutch assembly therein. A clutch pack is supported in the recess in the drum. A clutch piston is movably coupled to the drum and movable in a generally axial direction between engaged and disengaged positions relative to the clutch pack. At least one biasing spring continuously biases the clutch piston toward the disengaged position. A resin balancer plate has a side wall in contact with one end of the at least one biasing spring. The side wall is reinforced by a box section formed by: an outer wall that extends at an angle from one end of the side wall, an inner wall that extends from an opposite end of the side wall and is stepped in an axial direction toward the clutch piston, and a reinforcing rib interconnecting the side wall, outer wall and inner wall.
