Contractible Or Foldable Conveyor Section Patents (Class 198/313)
  • Patent number: 4121774
Abstract: A spreader implement attachable to the rear of a tractor has a container with two side by side funnel shaped sections. A port in the bottom of each section allows material to pass to conveyor belts that extend laterally to each hopper side. A flow control member is slideably positioned below each port with one or more openings that correspond to each belt, which openings can be more or less exposed by an adjusting device. The conveyor belts are supported on a foldable boom at each lateral side of the container and each belt leads to a respective rotating spreading disc and the belts extend for different distances so that material is spread over a very broad path. Each spreading boom includes beams and supporting guides for the upper and lower runs of the belts. Guide members are positioned below the flow members to direct material to the upper conveyor runs.

  • Patent number: 4063375
Abstract: An excavating and loading system is disclosed which includes a vehicle with an excavating wheel assembly at the front and a plurality of conveyors toward the rear. The conveyors of the excavating and loading system include cross conveyors and a main conveyor for receiving material from the excavating wheels. The main conveyor transports the material rearwardly from the excavating wheel assembly and delivers the material to the opposite end of the vehicle. An auxiliary conveyor assembly is detachably supported at the opposite end of the vehicle to receive material from the main conveyor and to transport the material either laterally or rearwardly. The rear portion of the main conveyor is adapted to fold under the auxiliary conveyor assembly to reduce the overall height of the excavating and loading system during travel. The auxiliary conveyor assembly has a pair of conveyors mounted with the discharge end of one conveyor adjacent the receiving end of the other conveyor.

  • Patent number: 4058198
Abstract: A conveyor assembly comprises a main conveyor and a boom conveyor. A mounting is pivotally connected at the discharge end of said main conveyor for movement about a transverse axis relative to said main conveyor, said mounting having a rotatable support on which the boom conveyor is mounted for pivotal movement laterally. A linkage retains said mounting in a horizontal position extended outwardly beyond said discharge end with said rotatable support upright. The support has an attachment device at its upper end providing for pivotal connection about a transverse axis of said boom conveyor for movement thereof in a vertical plane, the boom conveyor being supported by a length-adjustable tie from said mounting. The linkage comprises a series of interconnected pivotal links between said mounting and said main conveyor to provide for synchronized adjustment of the mounting to maintain the support upright on alteration of the inclination of said main conveyor.

  • Patent number: 4011936
Abstract: A loading and conveying machine has crawler treads and a frame extending forwardly thereof. A conveyor extends from the front to the rear of the machine. An apron is pivotally mounted at the front of the frame and receives material from a loading implement and deposits it onto the conveyor. The front end of the conveyor is pivotally mounted to the apron and arcuately moves about the apron pivot axis when the apron is raised or lowered. The joined conveyor and apron may also be adjusted together by vertically moving the apron pivot axis. The midsection of the conveyor is articulated so that the conveyor framework is separated into front and rear segments which are independently movable relative to each other and to the machine frame.
