Publication number: 20140076687Abstract: The production plant for bulk goods essentially includes a feed side for raw material, a processing unit for the material and a removal side for the processed products. In plants with a high output, the individual units of the plant run at a very high speed, causing wear and, as a result, disruptions to the process. It is therefore the object to step down the plant units running at a particularly high speed without thereby reducing the output. In the illustrative case of a plant for producing cotton sticks, this object is achieved by reducing the speed on the primary side and increasing the loading. When the speed of the primary chain is halved and the loading of blanks and wads is doubled, the same output is achieved with a significantly more moderate speed.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 2, 2012Publication date: March 20, 2014Applicant: ROWEG HOLDING AGInventors: Guy Petignat, Jorge Chacon

Patent number: 8037991Abstract: A method is provided to regulate a conveying stream composed of articles of the tobacco-processing industry between at least one tray discharger and connected to at least one feed device by a conveying element that conveys a mass flow of the articles. The feed device has at least one chamber designed to receive the articles, and each chamber has at least two feed units running independently of each other to feed the articles to subsequent apparatuses. Each feed unit has an individual feed rate (P1, P2, . . . Pn). The method includes monitoring a level within the feed device using monitoring elements; sending a signal to each of the at least one tray dischargers for regulating the speed of transport of the conveying element and the feed rate (in articles/min) as a function of a current level within the feed device, and adapting the speed of transport to a desired level.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2008Date of Patent: October 18, 2011Assignee: Hauni Maschinenbau AGInventor: Sven Kluwe

Patent number: 7980382Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for uniformly filling a relatively large container (5) with relatively delicate products, wherein the products are supplied at a first level using a feed conveyor (17), and these products are transferred by means of a guiding device which guides the products in restrained manner from the first level to a second level, wherein at the second level the products are released into a distributing device (3) for distribution in the container. The invention further relates to a guiding device (2) for guiding products from a feed conveyor, comprising: —at least one transfer member (11) comprising means for receiving the products at a speed which can be adjusted to the speed of the feed conveyor, —a guide member (12) which is arranged substantially along a part of the outside of the transfer member for guiding the products in the transfer member.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2005Date of Patent: July 19, 2011Assignee: De Greef's Wagen-, Carrosserie- en Machinebouw B.V.Inventor: Jacob Hendrik De Greef

Publication number: 20110167637Abstract: An apparatus for assembling a heat exchanger core matrix has a tube feed means for feeding heat exchanger tubes to a support surface upon which the heat exchanger is assembled and fin feed means for feeding heat exchanger fins to the same support surface. Both the tube feed means and the fin feed means are located above the support surface and, in use, the apparatus is operable to sequentially and vertically feed the tubes and fins to the support surface via a common feed guide. This arrangement enables the manufacture of large format heat exchanger cores.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 31, 2009Publication date: July 14, 2011Applicant: Emerson & Renwick LimitedInventors: Ian Westwell, Colin Hargreaves, Benjamin Clements

Publication number: 20080128336Abstract: A system for sorting a mixed stream of different colored cullet into separate groups of same colored cullet comprises a light emitting source for transmitting light, such as white light, through a cullet, and a camera having a plurality of pixels for receiving light transmitted through the cullet or detecting the absence of light blocked by an opaque contaminant, the camera providing at least one value from the light received, wherein the cutlet moves along a designated path based on the at least one value. The camera collects the received light at a desired sampling interval and a circuit converts the values into digital representation values. The circuit calculates a non-linear function from the digital representation values. An electrostatic or fluid driving actuator directs the cullet along a deflected path based on a value of the non-linear function. A vibratory feeder provides the cullet onto a conveyer belt having an exit roller of a desired diameter.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 6, 2008Publication date: June 5, 2008Inventors: Farook Afsari, Jerry Samuel Dimsdale

Patent number: 7322459Abstract: A product conveying and accumulation system and method employs a primary product transporting conveyor with accumulation and re-circulating sections. The conveyor is configured to receive products from an upstream destination and discharge products to a downstream destination. A second conveyor, operable at a considerable slower speed than the first conveyor, is located in the same transverse plane as and is aligned adjacent to the first conveyor. Both conveyors travel in the same direction at the adjacent alignment. As products are discharged from the system, a wall of product is formed on the slower moving conveyor. As a result, products on the inner lane of the faster moving conveyor which would otherwise tend to move inward towards the discharge point, causing product turbulence and disruption, are urged back onto the inner lane by the product wall and then smoothly discharged from the system to the downstream destination.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 2006Date of Patent: January 29, 2008Assignee: Garvey CorporationInventor: Mark C.
