Abstract: The apparatus has two pairs (16, 17) of conveying elements which are arranged laterally spaced from each other. Each pair (16, 17) has two parallel conveying elements (18, 19, 20, 21) arranged one above the other. All of the conveying elements (18 to 21) are guided via a respective driving wheel (22 to 25) and a deflecting wheel (26 to 29). They are, for example, toothed belts from which drivers (34, 35) protrude at a regular, adjustable spacing just over part of their length. A first driving unit (30, 31) drives one of the driving wheels (22, 23) of each pair (16, 17) of conveying elements in synchronism. A second driving unit (32, 33) drives the two other driving wheels (24, 25) in each case in synchronism. A control device is connected to the driving units. The apparatus enables containers to be transported from an input station (4) in groups to a loading station (8), in which they are made ready in a precise position and are filled.

  • Patent number: 6390282
Abstract: A conveyor system comprises pairs of vertically spaced and horizontally oriented pulleys and belts that are positioned on opposite sides of a conveyor path. The belts wrap around the pulleys and engage with opposite sides of an object being conveyed by the conveyor, for example an empty plastic blow molded bottle, and convey the object along the conveyor path between the belts. A vertical adjustment mechanism quickly adjusts the vertical positioning of the pairs of pulleys and belts on each side of the conveyor path to quickly adapt the conveyor for conveying different sized objects.

  • Patent number: 6386535
Abstract: A print media loading mechanism for a printer includes a feeding device comprising a pair of surface-defining elements which define surfaces which are movable relative to each other in the same direction parallel to a direction of feed of the print media, the feeding device being operable to engage a leading edge of the print media for feeding it towards an exit region of the printer to effect loading of the printer. A displacement arrangement displaces the surface-defining elements, in a direction transverse to a direction of feed of the print media, into abutment with each other when loading of the print media is required and for displacing the surface-defining elements out of abutment with each other when loading of the print media has been completed.

  • Patent number: 6352252
Abstract: A conveyer device for bookbinding machines having a number of processing stations and having plate or cleated chains or the like which take over book blocks and convey them intermittently to the processing stations. The plate or cleated chains are driven in a circulating manner and have chain beams that act in opposite directions to one another. The chain beams include longitudinal bearers and longitudinal guides on which strands of the plate or cleated chains are supported. In order to shorten the set-up time, the distance of the chain beams of the plate or cleated chains from one another is varied by a setting drive via setting members for the purpose of adapting to different thicknesses of book blocks. The thickness of a particular book block is automatically determined in the setting-up operation via a measuring arrangement in the intake.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of changing the position of chains of sausages in sausage production processes with two endless conveying belts which convey the sausages of the chain of sausages over a first length in a first direction and which then deflect the chain of sausages into a second direction and convey it over a second length in said second direction, the distance between the conveying belts being chosen such that it is larger during transport in said second direction than during transport in said first direction. In addition, the present invention relates to an apparatus for carrying out the method according to the present invention and to the use of said method according to the present invention and of said apparatus according to the present invention for transferring a chain of sausages from a twist-off station to a suspension station.

  • Patent number: 6341630
Abstract: A bottling apparatus has a frame and an endless conveyor element on the frame and having a horizontal lower stretch, an upper stretch above the lower stretch, and upstream and downstream corners where the element changes direction. A plurality of pairs of upstream and downstream plates are each secured to the element with the plates of each pair having confronting edges each in turn formed with a cutout. The cutouts of each pair form in the straight stretches a seat adapted to fit snugly around a neck of a bottle. The edges are spaced apart at the corners so that, at the corners, they cannot hold a bottle. A drive advances the element in a horizontal transport direction in the lower stretch and separates the plates of each pair at the upstream and downstream corners.
