Abstract: An apparatus for multi-axial transfer of objects in assembly line includes a first conveyor assembly, a second conveyor assembly, a first drive assembly, and a pivot point arrangement. The first conveyor assembly includes a plurality of rollers in a horizontal plane. The second conveyor assembly includes a plurality of geared chain arrangements mounted on at least one drive shaft. At least one of the plurality of rollers and the at least one drive shaft are coupled to the bevel gear arrangement. The first drive assembly includes a first motor coupled to the bevel gear arrangement to cause movement of an object in contact with the first conveyor assembly and the second conveyor assembly along a first axis and a second axis in the horizontal plane, respectively. The plurality of geared chain arrangements are movable along a third axis in a vertical plane using the pivot point arrangement.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for transferring hollow blow molded articles from a vertically disposed wheel blow molding machine to a horizontally-disposed takeaway conveyor. Each mold on the wheel releases multiple blown articles at the six o'clock position on the wheel such that the articles fall freely from the wheel. An inclined end of a takeaway conveyor is located directly underneath the six o'clock position in order to receive the free falling blown articles and transport them to a horizontal transporting section of the takeaway conveyor. Flanges which extend upwardly from the conveying surface of the takeaway conveyor in combination with a powered endless positioning belt which extends a spaced distance along the inclined receiving end are utilized to confine the blown articles on the receiving end and uniformly position the blown articles on the takeaway conveyor.

Abstract: A continuous container-supplying apparatus in which a plurality of container holding assemblies, each comprising right-side and left-side holding members are provided on conveyor belts that run as an integral unit along an annular track that has a pair of parallel sections. Containers are intermittently supplied to the container holding assemblies on one side of the parallel sections, and then converted into a continuous movement in a single row on another side of the parallel sections so that containers are continuously supplied to a filling and packaging system. The right-side holding members are provided on the upper conveyor belt, and the left-side holding members are provided on the conveyor belt. When containers of different width are to be supplied, the relative positional relationship of the upper and lower conveyor belts in the conveying direction is adjusted so as to change the spacing between the right-side and left-side holding members.
Abstract: A device for receiving and transporting objects has at least one pair of parallel chains or belts situated opposite each other and driven in synchrony, which define a space between each other for transporting the objects therethrough. Each chain has at least one gripper which is mounted so as to be pivotable thereon and faces a corresponding gripper on the other chain. Each gripper has an extension which is moveable along a guiding path. The guiding path has a path section sloped with respect to the direction of transport of the objects at the point of receipt of the objects, so that, when the chain is moving, the extension of the gripper is deflected along the sloped path section and thus a rotational movement countering the translational movement caused by the chain is imparted to the gripper. Thus no rotational movement occurs at the moment of contact between the gripper and the object.

Abstract: A sheet registration and conveyance apparatus for registering leading and trailing edges of a compiled set of sheets. The apparatus includes a first movable belt; a first registration stop fixedly mounted on the first belt for registering the leading edge of the sheets; a second movable belt, located next to the first belt; a second registration stop fixedly mounted on the second belt for registering the trailing edge of the sheets; a drive mechanism for moving the second belt relative to the first belt so that the second registration stop registers the trailing edge of the sheets after the first registration stop contacts the leading edge of sheets; and a mechanism for providing movement of the first belt synchronous with movement of the second belt after both the first and the second registration stops have registered the set of sheets.
