  • Patent number: 6659267
Abstract: A vibratory conveying device comprise an elongated trough for transporting materials, and a base underlying the trough. A plurality of elongated leaf springs support the trough on the base, with a vibratory drive system operatively connected to the base for effecting vibratory movement of the trough. Economical manufacture and efficient maintenance are facilitated by configuring the base so that it comprises a pair of sheet-like base side members, with a laterally extending drive support member extending therebetween. In the preferred form, the drive support member is detachably connected to the base side members with suitable mechanical fasteners. In turn, a pair of rotary vibratory drives of the drive system are removably mounted on respective opposite sides of the drive support member by a plurality of threaded mechanical fasteners.

  • Patent number: 6527104
Abstract: A differential impulse conveyor includes a conveyor base 12 and a tray 16 movable in a forward direction to move goods with the tray and in a backward direction to slide goods along the tray. A pair of tray support members 18, 20, 192, 200, 222 interconnect the conveyor base in the tray. Each tray support member may be pivotally connected at a lower end of the conveyor base and pivotally connected at an upper end of the tray. An electrically powered linear motor 30, 82, 95, 135, 145, 225 moves the tray forward and rearward. A connector support 20 for interconnecting the base and the tray, or for interconnecting any stationary member and a movable member, may include a linear bearing having an end surface with a radius for rolling engagement with a contact surface having a radius twice of that of the end surface to achieve the desired linear motion of the tray or movable member.

  • Patent number: 6497339
Abstract: A discrete object counting and dispensing system includes an object counter, a funnel couplable relative to the object counting system such that when discrete objects are provided in the funnel, the discrete objects are counted by the object counting system. The system also includes a vibration system which vibrates in a substantially horizontally circular plane in a rotational direction, a mounting assembly rigidly coupled to the vibration system, and a discrete object container couplable to the mounting assembly. The container has a reservoir and an exit, and is adapted to feed discrete objects from the reservoir to the exit when the container is vibrated by the vibration system. When the discrete objects are exited from the exit, the discrete objects are counted by the object counting system and then dispensed.

  • Patent number: 6435337
Abstract: A vibratory conveyor drive is provided that is operatively connected to a vibratory conveyor tray for use in generating reciprocating movement in the tray so that a variety of goods may be transported along the tray. The conveyor drive includes a drive wheel having a radial slot formed in it. The drive wheel is supported for rotation about a first axis of rotation and is operatively connected to a source of rotational motive force, such as an electric motor. A transfer wheel is supported for rotation about a second axis of rotation, and is positioned in substantially parallel-spaced relation to the drive wheel. The transfer wheel includes a first shaft projecting outwardly from a first surface, with a drive-follower positioned on an end of the first shaft. The drive-follower is received within the radial slot of the drive wheel. An axle projects outwardly from a second surface of the transfer wheel, and is positioned in coaxial relation with the second axis of rotation.

  • Patent number: 6415913
Abstract: A base excited vibratory trough conveyor includes a trough mounted on leaf springs to a base which is excited by a linear vibratory drive. The vibratory drive produces a linear force which is oriented to be perpendicular to the springs, and the linear force is adjusted to equal the reaction force of the springs on the base during the desired stroke. Such balancing results in no stroke or movement of the base. A more lightweight base can thus be used without requiring that the base center of gravity be aligned along the center of gravity of the conveyor and the trough, or that the base be excessively heavy.
