Abstract: Manufacture of electronic devices is usually accomplished through automated assembly lines using automated conveyors. These automated conveyors, typically comprising metallic components, cannot convey electronic devices into an RF chamber for testing (e.g., RF) during manufacture without compromising the efficacy of the shielding provided by the RF chamber. Thus, although electronic devices are assembled on automated assembly lines, a device is typically removed from the automated assembly line for testing, transported manually into an RF chamber, powered on, and then tested. After testing, the electronic device is powered down, manually removed from the RF chamber, and returned to the assembly line. Described herein are embodiments of a system and method to automatically transport electronic devices under power through an RF isolated chamber for testing (e.g., RF) as part of an automated assembly line process resulting in a dramatic increase in the number of electronic devices that can be tested.

A second driving mechanism includes a member designed to displace in response to reception of a force from the object when the object moves forward to the first position from a second position in front of the first position on the rail. The second driving mechanism allows accumulation of an elastic repulsive force based on displacement of the member. The transporting rail unit allows the object to keep moving forward based on the elastic repulsive force even after the object is released from engagement with the first driving mechanism. If the second driving mechanism is interposed between the first driving mechanisms, the object can be transferred between the first driving mechanisms. • Patent number: 6227344
Abstract: A connecting device for transport chains for the support and entrainment of plates for moving walkways or of steps for escalators of the type having two parallel chain runs to be joined together at a transverse spacing by connecting tubes serves to fasten the chain runs to the connecting tubes in a manner which facilitates subsequent detachment. Axle stubs of chain pins, which are constructed as support roller axles are pushed into the connecting tubes at both ends and are mechanically positively firmly held in an end position by slots in the connecting tube, a circular recess in the axle stub and a spring clip. The mechanically positive coupling is effected after the snapping of the spring clip through the slot into the circular recess of the axle stub, as in the end position of slot and circular recess are aligned with each other.

  • Patent number: 6176370
Abstract: In an endless conveyor, a plurality of slats are positioned in a side-by-side relationship relative to one another, thereby defining a work supporting surface which in turn is carried by a frame. The slats are driven via at least one chain that includes a plurality of pins extending therefrom, each adapted to engage a bracket mounted to one of the slats. The chain is moved in response to commands issued from a controller, thereby causing the slats to move relative to the frame.
