  • Patent number: 10028542
Abstract: A system and method for identifying areas of a processing plant in which a glove is damaged. The system includes utilizing color-coded sets of gloves in different areas or processing steps within the plant. All the gloves used in a particular plant are provided with a unique identifier. If a piece of a glove is located in the product within the plant, the color of that piece indicates the area or process of the plant in which the glove was used. If a piece of a damaged glove is located in the product at a remote destination, the unique identifier in that piece is matched with a registry to determine the plant in which the glove was used. The color of the piece then helps the plant to identify where the damaged glove was used. The system and method are particularly helpful in the food processing industry, especially meat processing.

Abstract: A novel ultrasonic oscillation-induced sericin extraction method produces a high-molecular-weight sericin solution from silk cocoon threads at room temperature. In one embodiment, unique pH variation-resistant alkaline ionic water is produced from a novel strongly-alkaline ionic water generator device, wherein the unique pH variation-resistant alkaline ionic water is subsequently utilized as a beneficial solvent that contributes to the feasibility of the novel ultrasonic oscillation-induced sericin extraction method at room temperature. The high-molecular-weight sericin solution produced and coated in a glove provides a high coating adhesion for economical manufacturing of sericin-coated gloves, while also providing superb skin moisturizing and protection properties.

Abstract: Provided among other things is a fabric comprising: a HPPE base fabric; coated thereon a primer polymer; and coated on the primer polymer a liquid-resistant polymer layer. The primer polymer can be a polyurethane. The base fabric can comprise an adhesion promoter that can be a plasticizer. The adhesion promoter can be a sulfonic acid plasticizer. The adhesion promoter can contain an active hydrogen, carboxy, carboxyloxy or acid group. The fabric can comprise, coated on the liquid-resistant polymer layer, an additional polymer layer. The additional polymer layer can comprise carnauba wax in an amount from about 1 to 3% Phr. The liquid-resistant polymer layer can be a NBR layer. In certain embodiments, the fabric shows no delamination of the liquid-resistant polymer layer after an adherence test. The primer layer can be a polyurethane layer. These features can be present in any combination.
