Patent number: 5214805Abstract: An apparatus is provided for blousing a pant leg. The central hole of a tubular, torus shaped, horizontally positioned, elastic sleeve is of a size to accept a calf of a person's leg. The sleeve includes a pair of opposing slits that each provide entry into the interior of the sleeve from above. A pair of foundation forms each have a curved, horizontally extending first portion positioned within the sleeve for providing conformal alignment of the sleeve with the natural curvature of a human calf. Each form further includes a second portion contiguous with the first portion and extending vertically from the first portion for protruding through one of the slits of the sleeve. A strap attachment slit is further included on each second portion for engaging at least one elastic anchoring strap, the strap holding the sleeve in place on the calf at a position adjacent to, and above, the top of a boot.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 1992Date of Patent: June 1, 1993Assignee: Donald G. Patent number: 5090057Abstract: A combined turnout pant and boot provide an effectively continuous moisture barrier. Each pant leg includes a moisture barrier liner and may include a first cuff. To fasten the boot to the liner, a second cuff, which may be attached to the top of the boot, is pulled up to the bottom of the moisture barrier liner and first and second corrugated connections are sealed together. The corrugated connections may be at one end of the second cuff and at the bottom of the first cuff; at the other end of the second cuff, with the second cuff being an extension of the liner and the first cuff, and at the top of the boot, or at both ends of the second cuff and at the first cuff and at the top of the boot. Excess material on the second cuff permits the second cuff to fold down, tending to fall over the boot with the liner extending down over the boot with it, thereby providing a substantially complete moisture barrier betwene the pant and the boots.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 1990Date of Patent: February 25, 1992Assignee: Lion Apparel, Inc.Inventor: Donald Aldridge

Patent number: 5006393Abstract: A material and method for hemming garments, especially trousers, by persons lacking satorial skills. On the material appears both a pressure-sensitive adhesive and a permanent fusible resin. Further, it has a row of slots cut into it. In use, the salesman or even the purchaser of a pair of trousers, for example, will mark the trouser leg and place the material on the inside of the leg, with the row of slots aligned with the marks. Folding the material upward until the slots sit along the line of the fold gives a trouser length as originally measured. The pressure-sensitive adhesive holds the material to the inside of the garment's cloth. The purchase of the garment may then try on the trousers again to see if, in fact, the hem falls at the exact correct location. If not, the pressure-sensitive adhesive allows the unfolding of the cuff and a further trial fold.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 1988Date of Patent: April 9, 1991Assignee: QST Industries, Inc.Inventor: Mark R.
