Abstract: A back support (10) for providing abdominal and lumbosacral support has a waistband (11) comprising a front panel (12) and a second panel (13). An elastic band (50) is operatively connected to the waistband (11). An apron member (40) is operatively connected to the top portion of the front panel (12). A pocket member (60) is operatively connected to the bottom portion of the front panel (12).
Abstract: An article of apparel having one or more detachable decorative elements replaceably coupled thereto, the article of apparel having substantially all exposed cloth surfaces made of a stretchable material having a multiplicity of loop elements, the detachable decorative elements having a multiplicity of hook elements engaging the loop elements of the material.
Abstract: A protective suit having a crotch, in combination with a longitudinally adjustable support belt removably connectable to the crotch of the protective suit in such a way that when the suit is being worn the belt extends essentially vertically between the protective suit and the wearer and envelops the body of the wearer.
Abstract: A back support (10) for providing abdominal and lumbosacral support has a waistband (11) of substantially unstretchable construction. An elastic band (30) is operatively connected to the outer surface of the waistband (11). The waistband has a generally V shape, wherein the waistband resists riding up on a wearer. The elastic band is preferably releaseably connected to the outer surface of the waistband (11). The support (10) may also have a tool belt (50) operatively connected thereto.
Abstract: A belt assembly for sizingly adjusting the fit of a garment in the crotch region thereof. The belt assembly comprises first and second buckle closure members with an elongate belt secured thereto and forming first and second loop portions therebetween. The belt is applied to the body of a wearer with the first loop portion encircling the wearer's waist, and the second loop portion encircling the lower posterior abdomen of the wearer below the first loop portion, with the second loop portion reentrantly passing forwardly between the legs of the wearer and forwardly upwardly to a frontal proximal extremity which is fixedly secured in proximity to the matably locked buckle closure members. The belt assembly of the invention is particularly useful to sizingly adjust oversized protective garments, e.g., of the disposable type, to conformably fit the wearer.
Abstract: An acromioclavicular support intended to provide sufficient pressure upon an acromioclavicular separation of a patient to permit the separation to heal, wherein the support includes an abdominal belt adapted for wearing around the patient's waist and having front and rear sides, a shoulder pad adapted for seating over the acromioclavicular separation, step connectors on opposed sides of the shoulder pad, a pair of straps one slidebly connected to the front side of the abdominal belt and the other slideably connected to the rear side of the adominal belt, each of said straps extending from said abdominal belt through its respective correcsponding strap connector and having a free end anchored to said abdomial belt spaced apart from its point of slidble onnection to said abdominal betl, each of said straps haing a buckle for tightening amd loosening said strap to apply pressue over said acromioclavicular separation through the shoulder pad.
Abstract: Athletic team identification belts are made of vinyl and are secured by VELCRO type fasteners. An additional fastener secured toward the center of the belt, on the inside surface, allows a second belt to be secured to the first, and draped over the users shoulder. The material portion of the fasteners extend at intervals along the belt from one end at least one third of the length of said belt, on the outside surface. The hook fasteners are on the inside toward the other end of the belt in a strip preferably one half inch wide. In an alternate embodiment the hooks are located on the outside surface of the belt.
Abstract: A shoulder-joint bandage having an elastic sleeve and a pair of belts which extend helically around the sleeve in opposite senses from the distal end thereof to then run along opposite lateral edges of a cap of the sleeve overlying the shoulder. The belts cross again behind the back of the patient and one belt passes around the other arm through the armpit and joins the other belt, e.g. at a buckle permitting longitudinal adjustment of the belts.
Abstract: An overalls or a similar article of apparel carries, integrally therewith, a rescue and safety harness, sewn to the garment or otherwise permanently affixed thereto which comprises a strap section running down the user's backbone, two oblique strap-sections which attain and surround the user's iliac crests and extend frontally, and two sections running along the user's groin-lines and along the user's thigh-glutei lines. An alternative embodiment provides supplemental grip points to permit securing of persons working in dangerous locations.
Abstract: An over-the-shoulder suspensory support device for use with leg casts, leg splints, and amputation casts is disclosed. The device provides a comfortable, adjustable, resilient support strap, an adjustable, removable positioning strap and co-acting tabs for use with casts and splints. A method for using the support device is also disclosed.
Abstract: Inflatable suspenders comprise an elongated envelope being closed at its respective end and having fastened in superimposed registry at its mid-point a strap including a slip loop at one of its terminal ends in communication with the envelope to form a substantially Y-shaped construction, the terminal ends of the envelope being closed and being provided with fasteners attachable on to apparel, the terminal end of the strap being provided with fasteners, the envelope being inflatable manually or with a capsule of pressurized gas, and a trigger mechanism selectively opening the capsule of gas.
Abstract: A belt, which is adapted to be carried about a portion of the trunk of the user, is mounted around the waist, in holster style, and over a shoulder and under an opposite arm. The over the shoulder portion having a plurality of loops to which a resilient ball is selectively connected by a line to adjustably extend from the belt downward either to the hip, knee, or foot area of the user.
