  • Patent number: 6691378
Abstract: A buckle includes a body having a pressing portion, a clamping portion, and a bendable connecting portion between the pressing portion and the clamping portion. The pressing portion includes two sidewalls and a post fixed between the sidewalls. The clamping portion includes a clamping hole. The connecting portion is mounted around a mounting peg of a main body of a pair of swimming/diving goggles. An end of a head strap of the pair of swimming/diving goggles extends into the body, winds around the post, and extends out of the body. The end of the head strap is pullable to obtain a desired tightness, exerting a force to the post to press against retaining edges on two lateral sides delimiting the clamping hole, thereby reliably positioning the head strap in place. The pressing portion is manually movable to disengage the post from the retaining edges, allowing loosening of the head strap.

  • Patent number: 6637038
Abstract: An improved sport goggle featuring apertures communicating with a pressurized air flow provided by focusing channels in a ledge projecting from the goggle body thereby increasing air flow into the eye cavity of the goggle. Venting of the eye cavity of the sport goggle is aided by forming of the goggle body shape to create low pressure zones adjacent to side and top venting apertures that communicate with the eye cavity. During use by a user, forward motion creates air flow through the focusing channel thereby increasing the air pressure entering the goggle through intake apertures and the curved shape of the goggle body creates low pressure zones adjacent to venting apertures to pull air from the eye cavity thereby increasing air flow and eliminating fogging. Additional utility is provided by aperture gates that are cooperatively engageable with the venting apertures to regulate air flow and/or absorb moisture.

The main portion is larger than a human eye socket. The frames are connected by a connecting portion therebetween. Each frame includes a ring portion for receiving the main portion of an associated lens. Each frame further includes a padding portion on an inner side thereof. The padding portion is engaged with the engaging portion of the associated lens and larger than the human eye socket. A space is defined between the two padding portions and located corresponding to a wearer's nose. Abstract: The present invention proposes an improved pad structure comprising a frame, a pair of pads, and a pair of sponges. The frame comprises a pair of rims, a bridge, and a pair of fasteners. A ductile belt can be tied between the pair of fasteners. The pair of sponges are respectively joined with the pair of rims. The inner edges of the pair of pads respectively sheathe the pair of sponges. Although the positions of the sponges and the pads are interchanged, the swimming glasses also maintain resiliency. Moreover, when the swimming glasses are worn, because the pair of sponges are respectively sheathed at the inner edges of the pair of pads and the face contacts tightly with the pair of pads, penetration of water into the swimming glasses because of absorption of water by the sponges can be avoided.

Abstract: Goggles include an eye-cup and a belt that are coupled by means of a coupling member. The eye-cup and the coupling member can be engaged and disengaged easier compared with conventional goggles. In the goggles, at a connecting end of the coupling member is provided an elastic bent piece with a V-shape section and a spring property. And a connection recess is provided on the eye-cup. The elastic bent piece of the coupling member and the connection recess of the eye-cup are fixed together in a mutual engaging state. The engaging state can be released by narrowing the gap distance in the V-shape of the elastic bent piece.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for avoiding the onset of eye discomfort while performing prolonged near point activities such as use of a computer or reading. The method of the invention comprises creation of a high periocular relative humidity over the surface of the eyes when engaged in prolonged near point activities. Preferably, the relative humidity is maintained at least at eighty percent and preferably at least at ninety percent. The increased humidity maintains the thickness of the lipid layer during such activity thereby reducing evaporation from the tear film. The high periocular relative humidity is desirably achieved using frames over the eye to encase the eye in a confined but controlled atmosphere.
