  • Patent number: 7181771
Abstract: A garment designed to protect the clothing of a child from food and drink spills while a child is eating is constructed generally by two pieces, a back flap and a lower piece. The back flap covers the upper back and shoulders of the child wearing the garment and provides a counterbalance to the lower piece, which covers the arms, body, and most of the legs of the child. The back flap and lower piece, when joined together, form an opening for a child's head and a side closure for securing the garment to the child. The arm, body, and leg portions of the lower piece are specifically shaped to provide optimal protection to the child's clothing, while also allowing relatively free movement of the child's arms. The garment is also designed so that it may be worn by a child sitting in a conventional high chair.

  • Patent number: 7032247
Abstract: A protective bib-garment system is described wherein a bib is detachable from the garment it protects, but can not rotate around the wearer's neckline. It thereby provides better protection and safety for the user. The bibs are easily attached or removed for separate cleaning when soiled. The danger of the user choking by having the bib rotate and tighten around the neck is generally removed. Better protection of the underlying garment is also achieved by keeping the bib anchored in front of the user. The system includes bib-ready garments in a wide range of styles, substantially any garment that could be worn by a bib user and is modified to accept the bib portion. These garments can be worn without the bibs and undergarments are protected from outside view or contact by the overlapping garment-bib interface attached to the inside surface of the garment.

  • Patent number: 6859938
Abstract: An inventive bib comprising a hoop made of memory material, a collar for fitting around a wearer's neck and a body portion for protecting the chest of the wearer. The hoop communicates with the collar and both the collar and hoop can be expanded to form a neck opening for placing on a wearer's neck. Upon releasing the expanding force on the hoop, the hoop naturally contracts due to its memory material construction. The contraction of the hoop provides an encircling force upon the collar and the collar thereby encircles the wearer's neck to form a snug fit.

    Patent number: 6836900
Abstract: The bib of the present invention has a collar and a chest-covering fabric extending from and attached to the collar. The collar is a resilient, generally C-shaped, flat plastic ring that is disposed within a sleeve. The fabric is attached to the lower end of the sleeve and it covers a user's chest to protect the user's clothes from food stains and spills. Consequently, the bib covers the user's chest while being retained about the neck by the resilient collar, eliminating the need for reaching behind the neck to fasten and unfasten the bib. The bib is suitable for user's of any age, and is particularly well adapted for use by the elderly, the disabled, and small toddlers. The chest cover may have any desired shape or color, and may have indicia thereon.
