  • Patent number: 5697102
Abstract: A garment which may be employed as a robe or alternatively, as a towel, is disclosed. The garment comprises a generally rectangular piece of toweling material having a predetemined length and width wherein the length is greater than the width. A narrow slit extends in the direction of the length approximately midway across the width of the garment, thus providing an opening for the head of a wearer when the garment is worn as a robe. The article further includes a second piece of material which is attached to the garment and which serves as a hood when the garment is employed as robe. The second piece of material is sized and configured so as to allow it to cover the slit when the garment is used as a towel, such as a beach towel, to minimize user discomfort due to sand contact. Fasteners may be employed to releasably connect the sides of the garment when it is used as a robe.

  • Patent number: 4606078
Abstract: An improved coat that has large sleeves and an oversized girth whereby the wearer of the coat may carry a child under the coat on either the wearer's front or back. An adjustable length belt blacks the passage of air into the coat, prevents articles stored in the sleeves under the coat from falling out, and pulls the fullness of the coat into the wearer so that coat may be worn by a single person. A deployable front hood is provided to protect the child when carried in the front. A deployable hood in the back of the coat provides protection to child and wearer when child is carried in the back. A baby carrier is provided that adequately accommodates a child from birth, through all growth stages, to as long as the parent wishes to carry the child. A vest worn in conjunction with coat is provided to protect wearer's shoulders against cold.

  • Patent number: 4473908
Abstract: Garments covering the arms and upper torso made of a one-piece or multi-piece pattern in which the central axis of the sleeves are naturally positioned forward of the lateral plane of the body (rather than with the conventional fitted position placement in the lateral plane). The low point of the armhole is advantageously at the side front in the center of the armpit when the arm is raised. The garment is fitted to accommodate arms positioned at an angle substantially forward of the lateral plane of the body, preferably ranging between about 18.degree. and about 45.degree.. Contrary to conventional wisdom, the garments fit a body position which is in the center area of the natural arm movement range relative to the torso and which is naturally unsymmetric between front and back.

  • Patent number: 4404689
Abstract: A flexible container for an article constructed in accordance with a predetermined three-dimensional shape which represents the reproduction of a desired item is now being added to the state-of-the-art. The container while being flexible is also self-sustaining so that it can retain its predetermined three-dimensional shape without the assistance of any external agent. The flexible container is stored with the article when it is not serving as a container for the article. The predetermined three-dimensional shape which the flexible container assumes when it is to serve as a container for the article is relinquished when stored with the article so as not to interfere with the intended use of the article.

Abstract: A protective cape is formed from a continuous piece of material, such as plastic, with a centrally located neck opening. The cape is formed with generally opposed portions relative to the neck opening, one of which has a relatively large area and the other of which has a relatively narrow area. The narrow area portion overlaps the large area portion along the front surfaces of the wearer's torso, so as to close the cape along the front surfaces of the wearer's neck. Fastening means are formed along engaging surfaces of the overlapped portions adjacent the neck opening. The fastening means comprise interlocking surfaces fitted to coincide with upper edges of the neck opening, such that the neck closure lies flat against the wearer's neck contour.
