  • Patent number: 9437952
Abstract: A connector assembly includes a male connector element that is manually expandable to control tightness of fit in a and a female connector element. The male connector element is having a first and a second portion configured by longitudinally bi-furcating the male connector element and includes a chamfered portion, a radially adjusting mechanism and a screw. The chamfered portion is axially configured on male connector element and receives the radially adjusting mechanism that moves the first and second portions relative to each other. The screw axially passes through male connector element and radially moves the radially adjusting mechanism to adjust the gap between the first and second portions to adjust external dimension of male connector element.

  • Patent number: 7767921
Abstract: The invention relates to a circuit breaker for electric supply lines, in particular energy lines or battery cables of motor vehicles. Said circuit breaker comprises a first connection element (2) and a second connection element (4), the current path running between the first connection element (2) and the second connection element (4), when the circuit breaker (6) is in a conductive state. The aim of the invention is to provide a cost-effective, fail-safe circuit breaker. To achieve this, the first connection element (2) comprises a cavity (8) and the second connection element (4) is configured from an electrically conductive flat part and the second connection element (4) has a projection (10) that corresponds to the shape of the cavity (8), in such a way that in the conductive state of the circuit breaker (1), the projection (10) rests in the cavity (8) in a non-positive fit.

  • Patent number: 7653985
Abstract: Disclosed are methods for fabricating a micro-electro-mechanical switch. The switch has a cantilever arm disposed on a substrate that can be moved in orthogonal directions for latching and unlatching. For latching, the cantilever arm is moved back by a comb-drive actuator and then pulled down by electrodes disposed on the substrate and the cantilever arm. The comb-drive actuator switch is then released and the cantilever arm moves forward to be captured by a dove-tail structure on the substrate. When the voltage is removed, the cantilever arm is held in place by the dove-tail structure. The switch is unlatched by actuating the comb-drive actuator to move the cantilever arm away from the dove-tail structure. The cantilever arm will then pop up once it is released from the dove-tail structure.

  • Publication number: 20090133996
Abstract: An electric switch including a stationary contact that is annular. The switch comprises a gastight enclosure (2), a conductor bar (8) of axis (D), a stationary contact (12) presenting a contact zone (22) of substantially annular shape, a switch element (40), e.g. on the conductor bar, that is movable in the axial direction of the axis (D) between a first position in which it penetrates in part into the stationary contact (12) to establish electrical contact between the conductor bar (8) and the stationary contact (12), and a second position in which it interrupts said contact. The stationary contact, which is in the form of a ring that is circular or elongate, e.g. elliptical, surrounds the conductor bar (8), at least in part.

  • Patent number: 6798315
Abstract: A micro-electrical-mechanical system (MEMS) switch. The switch includes a compliant spring that supports a contact shuttle for movement in a lateral direction generally parallel to the substrate and biases the contact shuttle to a normally open switch state position. A plurality of moving electrodes are coupled to the contact shuttle. A plurality of fixed electrodes are interleaved with the moving electrodes. The moving electrodes and the fixed electrodes have generally planar major surfaces perpendicular to the plane of the substrate. Electrostatic forces developed between the fixed and moving electrodes cause the contact shuttle to move to a closed switch state position in response to the application of an actuation voltage. The moving direction of the moving electrodes and the contact shuttle is along a longitudinal axis parallel to the substrate and perpendicular to the planar major surfaces of the electrodes.
