  • Patent number: 8586885
Abstract: A force-feedback multidirectional input device includes a slider slidably supported by a support base and an operation knob joined to the slider. In a sliding operation, the slider operates in conjunction with actuating members included in a force-feedback unit. Therefore, a sense of force based on the sliding is fed back to the operation knob. Furthermore, the slider is elastically urged by coil springs toward an inner bottom surface of a housing space defined in the support base. In a depressing operation, the operation knob presses the support base downward against the urging force of coil springs. Therefore, a vertically movable member joined to the support base is moved downward along guide portions (convex rails and concave grooves). Thus, a push switch provided on a pedestal (circuit board) is pressed and activated by the vertically movable member.

  • Patent number: 7721618
Abstract: A slider of a moving portion slides on a sliding surface of a guide portion according to a selected range of an automatic transmission. A plurality of through holes are provided on the sliding surface. A detecting portion detects the range of the transmission based on the position of the moving portion. Particles on the sliding surface are scraped by a slider of the moving portion. The scraped particles drop into the holes to prevent a slider from being stuck.

  • Patent number: 7710237
Abstract: A case includes first and second halves, each having an opening in its one side, combined together with the openings opposed to each other. A moving member is accommodated within the case and slidingly movable along a movement guide. An operator is connected to the moving member. The operator has a proximal end connected to the moving member, a free end projecting outwardly from an upper surface of the case, and a bent portion bent between the both ends. Tops of the first and second halves are displaced from each other, in a direction vertical to the upper surface, to form a gap permitting entry of the operator. Edge regions of the tops of the both halves overlap with each other in the direction vertical to the upper surface, and the bent portion is bent so that the free end projects outwardly through the gap in the overlapping regions.

Abstract: The present invention concerns a contact module able to set up electric contact between two fixed contacts (14) by means of a mobile contact (15) when pressure is applied to a transmission member in an actuation direction (X), comprising: a body (7) carrying the two fixed contacts (14), a transmission member (3, 5) carrying the mobile contact (15) and sliding within said body (7) in the actuation direction (X). Said transmission member is formed of two parts (3, 5) and is able to contract in the actuation direction (X) when excessive pressure is applied to said member after electric contact has been made. The mobile contact (15) is able to separate itself from at least one fixed contact (14) under the action of elastic means (12) when the transmission member (3, 5) is in its contracted state. The invention also concerns an enabling switch incorporating said contact module.

  • Patent number: 7579604
Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for mitigating contamination associated with ion implantation are provided. An ion source, end station, and mass analyzer positioned between the ion source and the end station are provided, wherein an ion beam is formed from the ion source and selectively travels through the mass analyzer to the end station, based on a position of a beam stop assembly. The beam stop assembly selectively prevents the ion beam from entering and/or exiting the mass analyzer, therein minimizing contamination associated with an unstable ion source during transition periods such as a start-up of the ion implantation system.

  • Patent number: 7547898
Abstract: A system and method for mitigating contamination in an ion implantation system is provided. The system comprises an ion source, a power supply operable to supply power to a filament and mirror electrode of the ion source, a workpiece handling system, and a controller, wherein the ion source is selectively tunable via the controller to provide rapid control of a formation of an ion beam. The controller is operable to selectively rapidly control power to the ion source, therein modulating a power of the ion beam between an implantation power and a minimal power in less than approximately 20 microseconds based, at least in part, to a signal associated with a workpiece position. Control of the ion source therefore mitigates particle contamination in the ion implantation system by minimizing an amount of time at which the ion beam is at the implantation current.

  • Patent number: 7528335
Abstract: A light assembly for interiors of motor vehicles and the like includes a three-way sliding switch having a switch member that is movable to at least three positions corresponding to operating states of the switch. The switch includes an electrically conductive movable contact member that selectively engages conductive members to provide the different electrical states of the switch. The movable contact member also engages a detent structure and forms a three-position detent tending to retain the switch member in the selected position. Thus, the electrically conductive material of the movable contact member provides an electrical function and a mechanical detent function to thereby reduce the complexity and associated cost of the switch.
