  • Patent number: 8540943
Abstract: A portable ozonation apparatus for storing and purifying liquids includes a container having an opening for receiving a liquid and a treatment cap. The treatment cap is preferably detachably mounted to the container at the opening. Preferably, the treatment cap includes a main body portion having provided therein an electricity generating device and an ozone generating device. With this arrangement, un-purified liquid, such as water, is introduced into the container. The container is then inverted to bring the un-purified liquid into contact with the ozone generating device. At this point, the electricity generating device is activated to deliver an electrical current to the ozone generating device. Once powered, the ozone generating device produces ozone which is introduced into the liquid container. The ozone gas transforms un-purified liquid into a purified liquid suitable for consumption.

  • Patent number: 7232507
Abstract: An electrochemical cell design is disclosed for the particular application of the electrochemical treatment of contaminants in water. The cell is designed to allow the treatment of low concentrations of contaminants in low conductivity water efficiently, and to be simple to fabricate. The design incorporates tapered inlet and outlet fluid flow manifolds so that the cell pressure drop will be almost entirely due to fluid contacting the electrodes, thus maximising the effective use of the system pump power. A short anode to cathode distance and thin working electrodes are used to minimise resistive electrical power losses. The parallel slacked arrangement of the electrodes and the smooth inlet and outlet designs leads to relatively even distributions of current density and mass transfer resulting in maximal utilisation of the entire active electrode surface area.

  • Patent number: 6251238
Abstract: A plating apparatus, anode assembly, and method therefor are disclosed herein that improves the uniformity of the plating deposition across the surface of a wafer, substrate or article. This improvement is accomplished by compensating for the uneven plating deposition caused by a seed layer disposed on the article. The seed layer typically has a high resistance. As a result of the high resistance characteristic of the seed layer, plating currents that flow through substantial portion of the seed layer to the cathode contact encounter more resistance than plating currents that flow through less seed layer. This produces non-uniformity in the plating currents across the surface of the wafer, which results in an uneven plating deposition across the surface of the wafer. The plating apparatus, anode, and method therefor provide an anode having a plurality of separate anode sections designed to plate different surface regions of the wafer.
