  • Patent number: 4155502
Abstract: A single folded fiberboard carrier for an even number of drinking vessels of varying shapes and sizes, having a central vertical suspending handle portion or section, and a pair of depending hinged apertured panels for clamping the conical or frusto-conical sides of drinking cups when suspended in the carrier, and for preventing tilting or spilling of the contents in the cups when the carrier is at rest and the cups are supported on their bottoms. The vertical handle portion is apertured for grasping with the fingers of one's hand and has depending therefrom tabs for engaging the rims of the smaller cups to prevent them from falling through their clamping apertures. Hinged divergently downwardly extending from each side of the handle portion are panels having elongated cup body engaging apertures, which may have inwardly extending tabs.

  • Patent number: 4036391
Abstract: A plastic bottle case comprises four side walls, a bottom and a plurality of partitions extending between only two opposite side walls, the partitions having spaced V-shaped laterally projecting portions and a projection extending parallel to the opposite side walls from the apex of each of the V-shaped portions. The partitions and the projections are spaced apart a distance slightly greater than the diameter of bottles to be received in the case. The V-shaped projecting portions and the projections together extend a distance greater than the radius of the bottles but not to the next partition. A bottle carrier adapted to be received in the case has a bottom and opposite side walls, one of the side walls and the bottom being provided with cutouts to receive the V-shaped laterally projecting portions and the projections from the apices of such portions when the bottle carrier with bottles therein is placed between two partitions of the case.

  • Patent number: 3986628
Abstract: A bottle packing comprises a plastic bottle case receiving a plurality of cardboard or plastic bottle carriers. The case is divided by wedge-like compartment walls having sloping sides in which cutouts are provided to receive lower portions of bottles. The bottle carriers have a narrow bottom and sloping sides conforming to the compartment walls of the case and likewise having cutouts for the bottles. The carriers may also have cutouts for upper portions of the bottles and cutouts near the top to provide a handle. The carriers may receive one or two rows of bottles. The bottles can be placed in the case with or without carriers. When no carriers are used, the compartment walls prevent the bottles from striking one another.

  • Patent number: 3948388
Abstract: A composite frame-like holder for a plurality of articles such as containers, a blank for the composite holder, and a method of forming the holder from the blank. The composite holder is an aggregate of singly or multiply severable holder units which can be severed from the composite in a manner that maintains the integrity of the severed unit and of the remaining composite. Each unit has a sloping leg panel with an aperture for receiving an article, a vertical side panel and a top panel foldable over the article and having means adjacent its edge for securing it to the holder unit. The method includes folding the blank along its center line to place its sections in superimposed, substantially mirror-image juxtaposition, securing one section to the other along their center strips, severing the center line, depositing containers in leg panel apertures and securing the containers to the thereby formed holders.
