Abstract: A locking folding carton includes an insert having a product cavity and at one end a pull tab; and an outer carton having a hinged lid having an angled opening at one end and a finger notch at the other end, wherein the combined insert and carton allows for a voided space inside of the carton adjacent the pull tab end while the insert is within the carton in a closed position, and wherein the hinge and the geometry of the angled lid opening prevents the lid from being opened while the insert is within the carton in a closed position and wherein the insert is moveable within the outer carton to an open position with the voided space inside of the carton adjacent the angled opening end and wherein the hinge and the geometry of the angled lid opening allows the lid to be opened while the insert is within the carton in the open position.

Abstract: A package holding acupuncture needles comprises a packaging tray having a needle supporting board with positioning groves defined thereon for securely supporting and positioning acupuncture needles therein; a moveable headrest pivotably attached to an end of the packaging tray; a plurality of acupuncture needles each including an elongate needle body securely received in the corresponding groove, and having a shank extending into the moveable headrest, each of the acupuncture needles including a collapsible film jacket enveloped on the elongate needle body; a sealing bag enveloping the packaging tray and the moveable headrest with the acupuncture needles thereon; and when the sealing bag is removed from the packaging tray, the moveable headrest can be rotated between a horizontal position and a substantial vertical position to support the packaging tray in a way that the shanks of the acupuncture are exposed for being readily retrieved from the packaging tray.

Abstract: A packet (1) for smoking articles comprises an external casing, including a containing body (3) and a lid (4) rotatable around a hinge (5) made on a wall of the external casing, and an internal casing (18), slidable with respect to the external casing. In order to provide an ample surface available for communications to the consumer, advertising messages or similar, the external casing comprises a further wall (17) joined to the internal casing (18) so as to be distanced from the containing body (3) when the internal casing (18) is at least partially extracted from the external casing.

Abstract: A slide and shell container comprising a shell, and a slide, which is movable in the shell along a sliding path from a closed position to an open position, wherein in the closed position the interior of the container is inaccessible, and wherein in the open position the interior of the container is accessible. The shell comprises a guide slit, extending along the sliding path, wherein a guide means of the slide engages with the guide slit. Further, a single blank for forming a slide and a single blank for forming a guide means is disclosed.

Abstract: A package (1) for tobacco-related articles comprises an outer shell (2), a lid (4) which is adapted to close the top side of the outer shell (2) and can be swivelled about a hinge line, and an inner shell (6). The inner shell (6) accommodates a plurality of tobacco-related articles and can be shifted in the outer shell (2) from a retracted position to an advanced position, which enables access to the tobacco-related articles. A cutout (20) in the outer shell (2) exposes part of the inner shell (6) and enables transmitting a force onto the inner shell (6) for moving the inner shell (6). A connector (50) pushes the lid (4) into its opened state when the inner shell (6) is moved into its advanced position and pulls the lid (4) into its closed state when the inner shell (6) is moved into its retracted position.

Abstract: The warning graphic portions of a cigarette package are obscured and replaced with a more visually appealing replacement graphic, while leaving the cigarette brand logo unobscured. Preferably, the cigarette package is inserted into a sleeve which obscures the warning graphic while leaving the brand logo substantially unobscured. The sleeve contains a replacement graphic in place of the warning graphic. The replacement graphic could include user self expression or advertising. The use of advertising opens a new outlet for advertisers' messages.

Further, this invention provides a process of sterilizing a medical device comprising the step of subjecting said medical device to monochromatic ultraviolet radiation wherein the minimum total energy density of said monochromatic ultraviolet radiation at 257 nm which reaches the microorganisms present on said medical device is at least 284 mJ/cm2. This invention further provides an apparatus for delivering UV radiation to a medical device for sterilization comprising a laser and a scanner for the laser such that at least 284 mJ/cm2 at 257 nm is applied to a treatment area for said medical device.

Abstract: A water resistant absorbent towel dispenser. The dispenser includes a container having top, bottom and side walls housing a supply of absorbent towels, and an exterior handle for facilitating transport of the dispenser. The top wall includes a finger-accessible opening through which absorbent towels may be withdrawn. In certain embodiments, the top wall is convex upwardly, but is flexible to enable it to be depressed when dispensers are stacked vertically so as to come into load bearing contact with the towel supply. In some embodiments, the top and bottom walls have interlocking configurations to add lateral stability to vertically stacked dispensers.

The upper housing includes an inwardly directed ridge; and the lower housing includes an outwardly directed ridge which contacts the inward directed ridge of the upper housing when the humidor is in a fully extended configuration preventing the lower housing from separating from the upper housing. The upper housing includes an exterior surface to which a cigar cutter is detachably secured. The humidor also includes a lid secured to the upper housing and an enclosure sized to receive the humidifying material.

A sealed container is achieved by closing the tubular members at opposite ends, and the interior of the container may be accessed by pulling the tubular members apart. In its side wall, each tubular member includes an opening, and the openings on the tubular members are positioned so that, upon relative rotation of the tubular members, the openings can be brought into varying degrees of alignment. With the openings fully aligned, communication is provided between the interior and exterior of the container, so that a cigar stored therein may readily be exposed to the regulated environment of a humidor. With the openings fully out of alignment, an effective seal is provided between the interior and exterior of the container, thereby preserving the freshness of the cigar.

Preferably both the inner sleeve member and the outer sleeve member are formed from the same laminate blank. The outer sleeve member has a cover member formed therein. After insertion of the segment into the inner casing, the cap portion is placed around the extended wall portions of said inner casing and, in doing so, will not only close the container, but will also force the walls of the inner casing inwardly against the segment to positively lock it against movement. Upon removal of the cap portion, the side walls of the inner casing will spring outwardly to release the segment for easy removal from the housing.

A cover is carried by the caddy for covering and uncovering this housing top hole, and an actuator surface on the cover is adapted for engagement by a digit of the single hand holding the caddy. A movable bottom covers and uncovers the housing bottom to permit a cigarette package to be inserted or withdrawn. A pincer retainer at one of the two opposed small caddy sides includes two spaced apart resilient pincer arms extending toward one another to accommodate and resiliently retain the cigarette lighter on and in the caddy in a position to permit ignitive operation of the lighter by the thumb of the hand which holds the caddy.
