Patent number: 6779959Abstract: A belt of nails for nailers includes an outer belt, an inner belt and multiple nails. The outer and inner belts are parallel and respectively have multiple cylindrical outer and inner brackets connected in a straight line with connecting ribs between adjacent brackets. The outer and inner brackets respectively have axial outer and inner nail holes that are aligned. The nails have enlarged heads, shanks and tips. The shanks are mounted respectively through the outer nail holes, and the tips are mounted respectively inside the inner nail holes. Consequently, the outer and the inner belts securely hold the nails so the nailer will roof or nail perfectly.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 2003Date of Patent: August 24, 2004Assignee: Testo Industry Corp.Inventor: Brad Yang

Patent number: 6761268Abstract: A screw-holding belt (20) has a belt body (2) made from a plastics and having cutouts (8) that are formed at a pitch ‘P’ in and along side edges of the belt body so as to intermittently drive it. Passage holes (5) are formed at the same pitch as the cutouts in order to eject the screws (15), and have a diameter larger than their heads or washers. Screw-holding cylinders (3) are formed each in and coaxial with the central region passage hole (5), so that each screw's threaded leg is inserted into and held in the cylinder. Four stays (21) continue from the rim of upper opening (4) of each cylinder and extend outwards to the inner periphery of passage hole (5) in radial directions each intersecting the center line of belt body (2), so that the belt body can smoothly advance to eject the screws, without suffering from any trouble even if their heads or washers are of a large diameter.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 2003Date of Patent: July 13, 2004Assignee: Yugenkaisha Shinjo SeisakushoInventor: Katsumi Shinjo

Patent number: 6722497Abstract: A magazine has an elongated carrier strip (12) which carries several fastening elements (13) arranged one behind the other. For each fastening element (13), the carrier strip (12) has several receiving surfaces, each receiving surfaces being formed by a support surfaces (1) having an opening (11) and by two side members (2, 3) whose end parts are connected to each other and which jointly form a passage (5). The diameter of the opening (11) and of the passage (5) essentially match the diameter of the shaft (15) of the fastening element (13). Extending from the circumference of the opening (11), there are at least two slits (7, 8, 9, 10) which divide the circumferential area of the opening (11) into two circular ring segments that can be pivoted downwardly into the interior of the magazine.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 2001Date of Patent: April 20, 2004Assignee: Hilti AktiengesellschaftInventors: Andreas Pally, Gerd Daubinger

Patent number: 6708821Abstract: For use in a fastener driving tool, a fastener assembly includes a plurality of fasteners arranged in a row, each fastener including a head and an elongated shank and a carrier including a plurality of connected carrier sleeves for receiving and surrounding a portion of an associated fastener. Each of the carrier sleeves includes an axis, an upper breakable portion, a middle portion, a lower breakable portion, a pedestal associated with the lower breakable portion, the pedestal axially extending away from the lower breakable collar, and a pair of notches in the lower breakable portion, the pair of notches opening toward the head of the associated fastener.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2002Date of Patent: March 23, 2004Assignee: Illinois Tool Works Inc.Inventors: Kevin M. Patent number: 6679415Abstract: A fastener collation strip has pairs of vertically aligned rail-engaging members or projections which have convergent sides disposed within at least two mutually orthogonal planes such that lower and upper tip regions of the rail-engaging members or projections define point-type contacts whereby the fastener collation strips are movably supported upon the rail members of the magazine section of the fastener-driving tool. As a result of the point-type contacts, frictional forces generated between the collation strips of fasteners and the rail members of the magazine section of the fastener-driving tool are effectively reduced as much as possible whereby the conveyance or transportation of the collation strips of fasteners through the magazine section of the fastener-driving tool is effectively facilitated so as to render the conveyance or transportation of the collation strips of fasteners through the magazine section of the fastener-driving tool as smooth as possible.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 2002Date of Patent: January 20, 2004Assignee: Illinois Tool Works Inc.Inventor: Harish C.
