  • Patent number: 6024218
Abstract: A storage/display box for elongated objects has a generally parallepipedal and hollow base having a pair of parallel and spaced side walls and a normally horizontal floor extending between the pair of side walls, a cover pivotal on the base between a closed position closely engaged over the base and closing same and an open position standing upward therefrom, and a holder fittable in the box, adapted to hold at least one of the objects, and having a pair of side walls juxtaposed with the respective side walls of the base. A pivot pin is seated in one of the pairs of side walls for pivoting of the holder between a down end position wholly received in the base and an up end position projecting upward therefrom and through an intermediate position between the down and up positions. A guide formed in the other pair of side walls extends transversely of the floor and receives the pin for movement of the pin relative to the one pair of side walls limitedly transversely relative to the floor.

  • Patent number: 5979649
Abstract: An elongated packing container is intended to receive tools and other objects. In order to avoid damage to these objects upon dropping and falling of the container on the ground, a cushioning arrangement is arranged at the point of the container. The cushioning arrangement lends some play in terms of elastic movement to the side walls opening out in the point of the container, when the object in the container with its mass acceleration causes force to impact on the side walls of the container. This arrangement avoids the object's penetrating the point of the container and becoming damaged.

  • Patent number: 5967318
Abstract: Apparatus for packaging and organizing elongated articles such as tools wherein a body (3) is receivable in a sheathing (2). Body (3) has a bottom mounting surface (4) with a longitudinal extension, a support element (5) parallel thereto, and a mounting surface that is vertical to these members and that holds them spaced apart from one another. The support element has boreholes (6) aligned in a line. A longitudinal wall (8) between mounting surface (4) and support element (5) is provided with projections (9) that extend into the free space between mounting surface (4) and support element (5). Projections (9) narrow the originally designed diameters of the boreholes in the free space, so that as a result of these projections, a clamping effect is exerted on articles (1) mounted standing upright on mounting surface (4).

  • Patent number: 5950828
Abstract: A tooling utility system especially well suited for punches and dies employed in pharmaceutical tableting procedures is described. Punch trays, nesting one on top of another, have support rails with oppositely positioned arcuate cut-outs which provide nesting segments for securing the punches during transport and storage. Dies, placed within a cavity including a die support, are similarly secured in position. A substantial portion of the surface area of the punches and dies remain fully exposed, making for simplified inspection and cleaning procedures, including placing the vertically nesting trays directly into a sonic cleaner. The trays themselves form the outer structure of the tool system, secured together by hinged side covers or front and back snap on side covers. A unique tongue and groove interlocking arrangement is described which is disposed upon the top and bottom surfaces of the trays.

  • Patent number: 5887715
Abstract: A tool case with a storage space which is accessed from the underside of the tool case. The storage space may be fitted with various pre-assembled snap-in storage modules to provide the user with the flexibility of storing a wide variety of items in a wide variety of ways, depending on the user's needs. For example, the compartment may be fitted with a snap-in module comprising a series of rotating storage containers according to the preferred embodiment of the invention. Alternatively, the snap-in modules can comprise a series of sliding drawers, or a single rotating storage container, or any other tool or component holder. In the invention, a rectangular opening is defined within the bottom surface of the box portion of the tool case. Interior walls project upwardly from the edge of the opening to preferably define a storage space which accommodates a snap-in module.

  • Patent number: 5845774
Abstract: A screw gauge and indexed drill holder for use with sheet metal or wood screws has a base with a series of progressively smaller gauging holes into which a user can insert a screw of unknown gauge, the gauge of which is determined by the smallest hole into which the screw will fit. A series of holes sized to accept and hold body (clearance) drills of specific sizes is coordinated with the gauging holes such that once the gauge of a screw is determined, the proper body drill is referenced and immediately available. Another set of holes sized to accept and hold pilot drills of specific sizes may also be present and coordinated with the gauging holes to indicate and provide the proper pilot drill for a screw of a particular gauge. Indicia may be provided which shows the screw gauge corresponding to a particular gauging hole, the screw body diameter, the corresponding body drill size, and the corresponding pilot drill size. A set of drills may be provided with the device.

  • Patent number: 5842584
Abstract: A belt for storing elongated articles and a method for forming the same. The belt attaches to a planar surface or to a power tool, and includes a pad sewn to a strap. The pad includes a two-ply hook-and-loop fastener and an elastic member. The elastic member urges the two hook-and-loop plies into engagement, and the elongated article can be stored between the two hook-and-loop plies. The elastic member and the first hook-and-loop ply are gathered relative to the second hook-and-loop ply. The method includes laterally sewing the elastic member to the first hook-and-loop ply, cutting the first hook-and-loop ply, stretching the elastic member, longitudinally sewing the elastic member to the first hook-and-loop ply while the former is stretched, laterally sewing the elastic member and the first hook-and-loop ply to the second hook-and-loop ply to form the pad, and sewing the pad to the strap to form the belt.

  • Patent number: 5839580
Abstract: The invention relates to a tool holder for elongate tools, in particular for drill bits, with two holder parts which are connected to one another in an articulated manner on one long side. The holder parts can be swung open or closed like a book. Each holder part has a rear wall, four side walls and an open front side. Receiving shafts for the tool which is to be received are provided in each holder part. The receiving shafts are formed by mutually parallel crosspieces which project forwards from the rear wall of the holder part. A flap extends transversely over the receiving shafts of the holder parts. This flap covers part of the open front side and part of each of the crosspieces 5. The flap, in its bottom region, is fixedly or releasably arranged with the holder part such that it can pivot. The flap, in its top region, is connected to the crosspieces 5 and/or the side walls of the holder part by a clamping or latching connection.

Abstract: A box for holding a plurality of dental posts and drill bits. The box is formed of a sterilizable material, i.e., stainless steel, and has a pair of end walls, a bottom wall and opposed open sidewalls. A pivotable cover is provided on the box over the bottom wall. A pair of plates are located within the interior of the box and include plural openings therein into which the dental posts and drill bits are extended.
