  • Patent number: 3990625
Abstract: For a bagging device, there is provided a roll of polyethylene bags which are fed through a braking device and thence past spreading devices and a floating hook support, whereupon are engaged sequentially the hooks of hangers upon which garments or the like are supported. The bags are provided with indicia thereupon which can be detected by a detecting device to actuate the braking device so that the bags may be readily torn off before they seat on the respective garments being packaged.

  • Patent number: 3979050
Abstract: A multi-ply plastic film article having an openable end is provided comprising a first ply of flat flexible plastic film superimposed over a second ply of flat flexible plastic film and having opposite edges thereof joined and an openable end, at least a portion of the first ply of film defining the openable end being distorted to separate at least a portion of the confronting face of said first ply of film from the opposed confronting face of said second ply of film, whereby the distorted portion of film provides means for readily separating the confronting faces of the first and second plies of film.

  • Patent number: 3978491
Abstract: An electrocardiogram (EKG) data strip is constructed with contiguous, repetitive segments to allow individual heart lead tracings recorded on the segments to be readily removed from the EKG data strip after the tracings have been completed so that the segments can then be inserted directly into a permanent record form. The EKG data strip of the present invention has a first longitudinal line of perforations along one edge, a second longitudinal line of perforations adjacent the other edge and a plurality of transverse lines of perforations extending across the EKG data strip between the first and second longitudinal lines of perforations. The transverse lines of perforations are located at spaced intervals along the length of the EKG strip to thereby divide the central part of the strip into a plurality of longitudinally aligned segments, each of which has a predetermined width between the longitudinal perforations and a predetermined length between two adjacent transverse perforations.

  • Patent number: 3963124
Abstract: There are disclosed various embodiments of record assembly webs. The record assembly webs are formed into separable record assemblies. Each assembly includes a record that can be applied to merchandise. One record part of the record can be readily removed from another part using one hand.

  • Patent number: 3961743
Abstract: A series of plastic bags are manufactured by extruding the plastic in tubular form and heat-sealing and perforating the flattened tube at spaced intervals. The shape of the heat seal and perforation is such that long ears are formed at opposite ends of the top of each bag. These ears can be tied together to close the bag and form a grasping handle. As illustrated, the ears are formed by folding in the sides of the extruded tube so as to provide a narrower roll, and shifting the layers with respect to each other so that only two ears will be formed on each bag by the heat seal and perforation.

  • Patent number: 3960062
Abstract: A band of bags of plastic material connected with each other by perforation lines. In the two end parts of each perforation line the number of perforations and/or the width of the perforations per unit of width is greater than in the central part of the perforation line. A device for manufacturing said band of bags comprises a perforating member with equidistantly spaced first perforating pins and second perforating pins are present on either side of a central area between the first perforating pins.

  • Patent number: 3958768
Abstract: Smearing of graphics and scoring of gusseted bags on a roll during dispensing from a shipping, storage and dispensing container are inhibited by providing support in the container for that roll only at the margin and between the margin and the thickened portion at the inner fold of the gusset but not including such thickened portion.

  • Patent number: 3956782
Abstract: A sheet of flexible material is folded and seamed into a contour mattress cover which lies flat for storage and may be formed as a continuous ribbon of detachable, end to end connected covers wound into a roll or may be individually interleafed in a pop up arrangement in a box or other dispenser. A flexible sheet comprising a fluid impervious, thermoplastic foundation layer laminated to an absorbent layer has its relatively longer opposite sides folded back onto its non-absorbent surface to form inwardly opening pockets. Longitudinally spaced, heat sealed, transverse seams, which are shaped to correspond to the opposite ends of the mattress, connect interfacing layers of the folded sheet for closing the ends of the pockets.

  • Patent number: 3949875
Abstract: A multi-ply strip somewhat longer than the circumference of the average human neck has two oppositely-facing arcuate edge portions toward the center of the strip to accommodate the contours of the neck. In one form, the opposite short ends of the strip have angularly cut-off corner portions to facilitate detachment of the strip from a roll of strips.

  • Patent number: 3939976
Abstract: A roll of flexible material is divided into multiple table place setting sections. Each place setting section includes a relatively recessed circular portion formed in the flexible material and also eating utensils which are attached to the flexible material. The sections are separated from each other by perforations for removal of one or more as desired.

  • Patent number: 3931886
Abstract: An elongated flexible tube is formed with a plurality of sealing lines transversely of the tube in spaced apart relationship, a discontinuous cut line in the middle of each of the sealing line transversely of the tube and a discontinuous cut line in the shape of a continuous wavelike curve positioned transversely of the tube at the middle of the portion defined by each two adjacent sealing lines. The wavelike cut line defines at least two crest portions at the opening of each of a pair of inner bags to be formed on the opposite sides of the wavelike cut line. The inner bags, thus formed in a great number in a continuous tubular arrangement, can be separated along the cut lines for use.
