Abstract: A packing box is disclosed. The packing box includes a box body having an inward concave forming four blocking portions at four sides, and a plurality of supporting members. The supporting member includes a big head end and a small head end fixedly connecting to the blocking portions. The small head end is arranged above an up surface of the blocking portion. A bottom surface of the big head end comprises an inward concave, the small head end of the supporting member of the packing box located at a lower altitude engages with the big head end of the supporting member of the packing box located at a higher altitude when the packing boxes are stacked.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to expose enclosure labels are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a first enclosure having a first characteristic, a first label indicative of the first characteristic and fixed to an outer surface of the first enclosure, and a second enclosure to couple to the first enclosure. The second enclosure is to cover the first label when the second enclosure is coupled to the first enclosure. The first and second enclosures have a second characteristic when the second enclosure is coupled to the first enclosure. The example apparatus also include a second label indicative of the second characteristic and fixed to an outer surface of the second enclosure. The second label is to be exposed when the second enclosure is coupled to the first enclosure.

Abstract: The present fliptop plates apparatus relates generally to a mateable plate apparatus and more particularly to an improved plate apparatus comprising a working surface of a first plate which complimentarily and lockingly can be mated with a working surface of a companion plate to form a receptacle, wherein preferably both plates have identical working surfaces, the plates may provide tactile feedback to users of the mateable plate apparatus, and the plates may be easily and optimally both stacked and unstacked.

Abstract: A towel is formed by hydro-entanglement of an isotropic web formed of predominantly rayon. The towel comprises a surface texture formed during hydroentangling. The towel is compacted into a cake or disk shape for distribution. The cake or disk shape can expand when exposed to moisture such that the towel recovers to substantially the original dimensions and texture.

Abstract: A one-part container produced by injection molding for reeled magnetic tape, for example 1" video tapes, is described, the container comprising a bottom tray and a top tray, which are connected to each other by means of a folding line provided with bends, there being provided on a bevelled-off edge of the bottom tray and of the top tray holding grip parts, which are joined together to form a holding grip when the container is closed up. The container includes inside it a hub arresting means, in the bottom part and in the top part an annular projection for receiving or supporting the reel, the reel being mounted rotatably in the interior. Furthermore, the container includes lugs on the side walls for closing by snapping in of the container. The side walls are shaped such that, by virtue of elevations which engage in correspondingly shaped grooves in the other part of the container, the content is stored in a manner protected against dust and moisture.

Abstract: A two part clamshell web cassette is provided with a central recess for receiving a web roll core. The core and cassette half shells have mating surfaces which form a labyrinth light seal when the cassette is closed and which prevent rotation of the core during handling of the cassette to provide a core brake. Surfaces on the cassette parts clamp the web tail of a partially dispensed web roll when the cassette is closed. The core brake and web clamping surfaces facilitate transport of the cassette without loss of intra-roll web tension. The cassette is provided with a latch for retaining the cassette half shells in a closed light sealed condition. A frangible covering over a latch release means indicates when broken that the cassette may have been opened prematurely. The cassette further includes a web end retaining means which retains the web end portion to the underlying convolution.

Abstract: A motion picture film shipping and handling system is adaptable for use on either a platter-type movie projector system or on a reel-type movie projector system. The system includes two film supporting flanges with a collapsible hub located therebetween. A central supporting hub is releasably connected to the collapsible hub, and fasteners releasably attach the elements together. A shipping case contains the flanges and the film in a manner which dissipates impact forces to protect the film and the flanges.

Abstract: A motion picture film shipping and handling unit is adaptable for use on either a platter-type movie projector system or on a reel-type movie projector system. The unit includes two film supporting flanges with a hub located therebetween. A central supporting hub is releasably connected to the hub, and fasteners releasably attach the elements together. A locking ring connects the flanges together and a flexible film winding ring surrounds the locking ring. A packing ring formed of one or more separate annular sections is located between the locking ring and the film winding ring. A handling assembly assists in moving a shipping and handling unit into position adjacent to a platter of a platter-type motion picture projector. Another form of the handling assembly includes a platter system that has the platters thereof mounted on pivots and telescoping arms to move into position to accept film from a vertically oriented film shipping and handling unit. Ramps elevate the shipping and handling unit as necessary.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method of wrapping a reel with a metal strip as well as the strip adapted for implementing this method and the reel thus wrapped.This method is characterized in that before or after bending back, the margins (20) of the metal strip (12) are shaped so that after bending back under the tire (7), their end terminates under the tire in a web (21) parallel to a plane perpendicular to the axis of the reel.

Abstract: Substantially slip and skid resistant reel carriers are disclosed for storing, carrying and shipping reels of motion picture film, videotape, magnetic tape and the like. The reel carriers include a plurality of tapered cylindrical bumpers or feet formed of a material having a high coefficient of friction which are adhered to the external surfaces of the top and bottom walls of the reel carrier. In preferred embodiment the bumpers are formed of a polypropylene-butaliene copolymer and are riveted to the reel carrier. The reel carriers exhibit satisfactory functional affinity for conveyor belts and are well suited for shipping and handling by contemporary automated shipping equipment.

Abstract: A locking mechanism is disclosed for releasably coupling together cover and receptacle portions of a reel storage container. The cover portion has a rotatably mounted, single-part hub member which is manually movable relative thereto between at least "open" and "closed" positions. The receptacle portion has a cam member engageable by a cam follower on the cover portion when the hub member is moved to its "closed" position to draw the cover and receptacle portions into tightly closed engagement. The hub member further has a spring latch arm that is an integral part of the hub member and is manually movable relative thereto between normal latched position in which the hub member and cover portion are latched together, and an unlatched position.

Abstract: A reel cover which is primarily intended to be used in enclosing the space between the sides of a reel can be constructed from a single extruded strip of a polymer such as plasticized polyvinyl chloride. Such a strip as formed will have parallel ridges on its under surface which are adapted to fit against the sides of the reel. The cover is formed from the extruded strip by punching out openings in terminal portions in the ends of the strip so that portions of the ridges remain on these terminal portions. The openings and the remaining ridges are dimensioned so that one terminal portion may be placed over the other and the two terminal portions can then be attached by pushing the remaining ridges on one terminal portion through the openings on the other terminal portion.

Abstract: A protective canister for computer discs comprises a hollow tube and a pair of end caps for closing the tube and fixing a central post therein. A stack of alternate computer discs and spacers having aligned central apertures is loaded onto the center post and clamped in the canister by way of a pair of platforms carried by the end caps about the central post. The elements of the canister are preferably constructed from hydrocarbon-based polymers and, after loading, the canister is sealed in shrink film so that the discs are protected in an environment which is free of particulate matter.

Abstract: A cartridge assembly for a printing machine of the type used to imprint alpha/numeric or other graphic information onto a continuous strip of tape using a carbon coated or otherwise colored ribbon. The cartridge assembly comprises two separate housings, one containing the spool or plastic tape and the other for containing the spool of carbon/ink coated ribbon and a means are provided for releasably coupling the two housings together such that as the tape and ribbon are drawn from their respective spools, they enter the print station of the machine in a face-to-face juxtaposed orientation.

Abstract: A reel storage container comprising a body including a central post having a generally mushroom-shaped head; a cover having an elongate handle extending diagonally across its center; and a latching member mounted within the handle for longitudinal sliding movement between a release position and a latching position to which it is biased. The latching member will engage the mushroom-shaped head in its latching position, will cam around and engage the mushroom-shaped head when the body and cover are assembled, and is manually engageable through an opening in the handle so that the latching member can be manually moved to its release position to open the container.

Abstract: Each top cover of carrying and shipping containers designed for nested stacking has a first locking means for securing the cover to the container bottom. A second locking means for connecting each locked container to a similar underlying container positioned in stacked relation is located within the structure of a male component of the first locking means which is mounted in the container cover. Structures of both locking means are provided for rotary and linear sliding modes of operation. The second locking means include cam collars having upper and lower chambers, the latter housing followers which, when actuated by a finger manipulatable means accessible from the top of the containers, project and lock into the upper chambers of similar cam collars of underlying containers.

Abstract: The housing of a cassette for motion picture film or magnetic tape consists of two or more sections which are separably coupled to each other by detents each having a preferably elastic toothed hook which is provided on one of the sections and whose tooth or teeth can snap behind one or more shoulders in one or more sockets provided in the other section or sections. The hooks do not project beyond the general outline of the housing when their teeth engage the respective shoulders. The housing may consist of an inner casing which is received in an outer casing having two shells which are separably coupled to each other and/or to the inner casing, or of an inner casing and a one-piece outer casing which receives the inner casing and is separably coupled to the rear end wall of the inner casing.
