Abstract: A transfer system includes a hand that supports a workpiece to be transported; an arm that moves the hand; a scanning controller that moves the hand by the arm along a scanning direction that intersects sides which are provided to be fixed to the hand and not parallel with each other, such that the sides pass a known reference position in a transfer path of the workpiece; and a position detector that detects a positional deviation of the hand in a direction intersecting the scanning direction, based on a timing at which one of the side reaches the reference position and a timing at which the other side reaches the reference position RP, while the scanning controller is moving the hand.

Abstract: A container lid and base assembly includes lid and base stacking features, as well as base chamfers that align with vents provided in the lid. When a plurality of the container assemblies is stacked, the lid and base stacking features nest with each other, while the chamfers align with corresponding vents in the stacked assemblies so that none of the vents is blocked by a next-higher container assembly. The stacking features can be centrally located, and the vents can be peripherally located. A plurality of the container assemblies can have differing sizes and/or shapes, while including mutually compatible stacking features, thereby enabling container assemblies of differing sizes to be stacked without blocking any of the vents thereof. The vents can be holes or “C” vents. The lid and/or base can be manufacturable by thermoforming. The lid and base can be separate, or joined by a hinge.

Abstract: Containers for storing food in a storage compartment may include a base portion of the container. The storage compartment is sealed with a film to get the food stored in the storage compartment fresh. The container further includes a reversible lid that is able to attach to the base portion of the container in two different configurations. In a first configuration the reversible lid attaches to the base portion without affecting the seal created by the film. In a second configuration the reversible lid attaches to the base portion when the lid is inverted and the film is removed from the base portion.

Abstract: A device and system that can perform bi-directional gas and fluid communication, thereby preventing the accidental spill and splash of sloshing liquids through the sip-hole orifice of a liquid container and/or the sip-hole orifice of its lid, but that still allows liquid to flow through the sip-hole. This is achieved by cutting into the sip-hole, extending the sip-hole and creating a tubular flow-path or labyrinth flow-path that can channel and direct the flow of liquid into a controlled and desired flow and rate via an inlet configured to do so, and by adding a removable plug. These elements help to buffer and deflect sloshing liquid thereby minimizing or preventing the accidental release of liquid, and in many cases improving the purposeful flow of liquid back into the container.

Abstract: A modular storage system includes a number of receptacles and lids with different sizes and features that are interchangeably coupleable to each other in a stacking arrangement. A first lid has slits to provide access to a receptacle and a second lid has a suction cup and is structured to be interchangeably coupleable to the receptacle and the first lid. A user can remove the second lid from the top of the first lid and secure the second lid to the bottom of the receptacle with the suction cup secured to an external surface. A third lid includes an opening covered by a deflectable membrane. The membrane prevents liquid from spilling from the opening if the receptacle is knocked over. A straw can be inserted through the membrane and opening to provide further functionality.

Abstract: A canister including a lid and storage canister. The lid incorporates a gasket that is overmolded onto the lid during its manufacture. The gasket is exposed on both the upper and lower surfaces of the lid in order to provide a non-slip surface at the top portion of the lid and a sealing surface at the bottom of the lid for sealing a storage canister.

Abstract: A cutting board with one or more cut-out sections is provided. Each cut-out is defined by a ledge, and one or more containers may be installed in a cut-out, by engaging their rims/edges with a cut-out ledge. After installation, and during use of the cutting board, no container extends above a work surface of the cutting board. Therefore, food ingredients, remnants, scraps, and so on can be easily and directly scraped or otherwise moved from the work surface to the installed containers. A portion of the cutting board that comprises the work surface is placed on a counter or other support and may be weighted to offset the weight of the containers, which overlie open space or an area lower than the counter (e.g., a sink).

Abstract: The Invention is a standard set of round, cylindrical and spherical pieces that form objects to hold other objects and food, to transport things and to build modular elegant and beautiful constructions. For example, the Invention's pieces can be used as spherical flowerpots that are arranged along a walkway with flowers, and those same flowerpots can be stacked to support a flowerpot a few feet off the ground. Furthermore, the flowerpots can be stacked to form columns that vines grow on. Pieces can be made exponentially larger and smaller, and features on pieces can also be made exponentially larger and smaller, while maintaining compatibility within the system of Invention pieces. For example, the stacked boxes that are FIG. 33 can be elongated to stack in a manner that forms the pattern of a standard brick wall's interlocking pieces.

The lid has a first flange portion which overlies a base flange. The base and lid first flange portions extend outwardly about the same amount. At the tab, a second portion of the lid flange extends substantially outwardly beyond the base flange. The flange second portion is connected to the first portion on both sides of the tab by weakened lines of material which extend cut lines through the tab front wall. The tab second flange portion is engageable to sever the weakened lines of material and pivot the tab upwardly to remove the lid, thus deforming it and evidencing tampering should the lid be replaced on the base. Base vents reduce ballooning when closed.

At least one of the first container may define an opening designed to provide access to a personalization system for personalizing a predetermined surface of the article while the article is retained by the insert and the insert and article are positioned within the interior cavity so that the predetermined surface can be personalized based on the position of the first container relative to the personalization system.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a storage container comprising a base having a continuous side wall extending upwardly from a bottom wall and terminating at a top peripheral rim defining an upper opening. The container has a lid to open and close the upper opening, and the base of the container has a foot in the form of a rib on the underside of the bottom wall, in which the rib snap connects with a mating lid recess on an upper surface of the lid. In addition, the foot is profiled with a lead-in portion on the rib that is configured to guide the rest of the foot into the lid recess, and the foot is further profiled with a retaining portion on the rib that follows the lead-in portion to snap connect with the lid recess.

Specifically, the lid can have an outer perimeter and the ribs can be spaced inwardly from the outer perimeter. The inwardly spaced ribs can provide a distinct look for consumer differentiation. Additionally, the ribs can be arcuate so that they generally follow a curvature of the outer perimeter of the lid. As such, a label region within the lid central region is preserved, while the lid is still strengthened by the ribs.

One or more transportable vacuum containers are packed with the perishable commodity. Thereafter, the controlled atmospheric condition is created within the container. The atmospheric condition is maintained while the container is transported from one location to another. Part of the controlled atmospheric condition includes the formation of a vacuum within the container. Internal structure is provided within the container to resist collapse of the container when the vacuum is formed therein. A plurality of containers can be provided. A central control, coupled to each of the containers can be provided to maintain the desired atmospheric condition within each of the containers.

Abstract: A container lid (10) is provided herein having structurally reinforcing ribs (50) therein. The ribs (50) increase the strength of the lid across a central region thereof. Specifically, the lid can have an outer perimeter and the ribs can be spaced inwardly from the outer perimeter. The inwardly spaced ribs (50) can provide a distinct look for consumer differentiation. Additionally, the ribs can be arcuate so that they generally follow a curvature of the outer perimeter of the lid. As such, a label region (56) within the lid central region is preserved, while the lid is still strengthened by the ribs.
