Abstract: A medicament dispenser can include a first side surface, a second side surface spaced from and substantially opposed to the first side surface, and a medicament packaging structure located between the first side surface and second side surface. A pivot structure can extend between the first side surface and the second side surface, and the medicament packaging structure can be rotatable about the pivot structure. Thus, the medicament packaging structure can be rotated from an enclosed state in which the medicament packaging structure is substantially enclosed by the first side surface and/or second side surface, to an exposed state in which the medicament packaging structure is substantially exposed from at least one of the first side surface and/or second side surface to provide user access to the medicament(s) stored in the medicament packaging structure.

Abstract: A child-resistant multi-step tear-access blister package having at least one product well containing a product. The product is accessed by tearing the blister package from a peripheral edge toward the product well. A step in addition to tearing is required to access the product, thereby elevating the cognitive skill necessary to access the product above those of a typical small child. In the disclosed exemplary embodiment, the additional step involves weakening a tear-resistant channel blocking a tear path from the peripheral edge of the package to the product well. More particularly, initial tearing of the package toward the product well is interfered with by the presence of the tear-resistant channel interrupting the tear path. The tear-resistant channel may be bent or snapped to permit tearing therethrough and to permit continued tearing of the blister package toward the product well to access the product.

Abstract: A multi-layer medication carrier or blister card may comprise a plurality of layers. A support layer is provided with one or more openings to receive corresponding blisters formed in a blister layer. A backing layer is provided over the blister layer to form one or more enclosures capable of holding unit doses of a medication. Perforations provided in at least the blister layer define unit dose packages. Dimples may be provided in the blister layer within a boundary defined by the perforations, which dimples may be used to ensure subsequent ejection of each unit dose package. An adhesive-free region in the backing layer may be provided in alignment with the perforations defining each unit dose package to further ensure proper ejection. Additionally, a partial-depth cut in the backing layer may be provided in substantial alignment with each blister, thereby facilitating removal of the unit dose of medication.

Abstract: A method for preparing a drink by passing hot water in a capsule (1), in which first at least one cut (10) extending in a linear fashion is made through the second wall (3) of the capsule (1), substantially without removing material from it. The adjacent portions (11) of the second wall (3) delimiting the cut (10) are then allowed to draw near one another again if necessary, then, by injecting hot water into the capsule, the internal pressure in the capsule is increased to cause at least partial expulsion of the air contained in it substantially without dispensing the liquid, and, then, by deformation of the second wall (3), the adjacent portions (11) delimiting the cut (10) are moved away from one another, allowing the drink to flow out. The invention also relates to an apparatus and a capsule for implementing this method.

Abstract: Sealed delivery unit 10 (shown in exploded format in FIG. 1A) contains medication 10M, and is formed by a generally flat member 10F pressed into selective engagement with an opposed shaped member 10S. Pumping chamber 12P, enclosed between the members generates a rupturing pressure in response to an external force applied by the user (indicated by arrow F shown in FIG. 1B). Enclosed Medication chamber 12M contains the medication to be delivered. Tunnel conduit 14 provides fluid communication between the chambers for rupturing the medication chamber in response to the rupturing pressure. Perimeter seal 16 extends around the pumping chamber and the medication chamber and the tunnel conduit. The perimeter seal is secure enough to withstand the internal rupturing pressure generated during delivery. Delivery port 18 with pull-away closure 18C (see FIG. 1C) delivers the medication out of medication chamber 12M. Rupture site 18S is proximate the delivery port.
