  • Patent number: 5181606
Abstract: A soap dish is made of ribs that are shaped to allow a user to pick up a bar of soap in a single grasp without lifting the soap over a rim or lip. The soap dish is also shaped to hold the soap in a stable and stationary position when the user puts the soap in the dish and to permit adequate drainage of water and soap residue. The ribs form the support surface for the soap, so that the soap rests on the top edges of the ribs. Each of the ribs has a portion that slopes up to form with the other ribs a valley that keeps the soap in the dish. The soap dish has a weighted base to increase its stability and a trough to direct water and soap residue away from the soap dish. The dimensions and arrangement of the soap dish are particularly appropriate for maximum ease of manufacture by injection molding of an acrylic material in a minimum number of separate components.

  • Patent number: 5022517
Abstract: A wrap for bar soap having first and second side walls with side members extending along two side edges and a bottom edge of the side walls. The side members connect the two side walls together along the edges and maintain the spacing between them; they also provide venting. The side members have only two layers of material. The top edges of the side walls are not joined but are open for insertion and removal of the bar soap. The side walls have inner and outer layers. The inner layer is made from a multiplicity of overlapping layers of nylon netting. An intermediate layer of soft, foam cushion material is sandwiched between the outer and inner layers and connected to the layers only along the outer periphery of the intermediate layer. The outer layer may be of a thick terrycloth material or overlapping layers of nylon netting. The side members in the preferred embodiment are also made of the nylon netting material without the intermediate layer.

  • Patent number: 5007531
Abstract: A shower kit adapted to carry a bar of soap, two liquid receptacles and a face cloth is disclosed. The kit comprises a pair of containers, each container comprising a base shell and a lid shell bound along one mating edge by a hinge, and having a clasp opposite the hinge to retain the lid shell in a closed position. One of the containers defines a pair of apertures through which the necks and caps of a pair of liquid receptacles inside the container may project. The same container also has a pair of access holes through which the liquid receptacles may be squeezed or manipulated. The other container is completely closed for carrying soap. The containers have a strap binding them together and can be folded over to bind a face cloth therebetween. • Patent number: 4630794
Abstract: This invention is a container for holding and semi-automatically dispensing a bar of soap. The soap is placed in the container through an opening in the top. A pivotally connected enclosure positions the soap on a holding shelf and shelters the soap from direct and indirect contact with water. The shelf, which may have an open grid-like surface, has at least one drain, allowing water to drain from the soap and not pool and collect around the soap. When the soap is needed, the user mechanically operates the container. The enclosure pivots, pushing the soap semi-automatically to an exit opening, where the soap dispenses from the container into the hand of the user. The container may be used in any facility requiring the use of soap and particularly in bath tubs and showers. The container may be attached by a bracket to a wall or other mounting surface.

  • Patent number: 4133443
Abstract: A soap dish which includes an extendible arm connected to a tray. The tray is pivotable with respect to the arm from a substantially horizontal position to a substantially inclined position in order to facilitate draining. The drain includes a restraining means to prevent disassociation of the cake of soap from the tray when the tray is in the draining position. A rod which extends from the lower surface of the tray cooperates within a mating aperture which permits pivoting of the tray with respect to the arm. Located about the rod and about the aperture are planar surfaces which are to be in abutting contact with one another.

  • Patent number: 4034851
Abstract: A soap buoy which is adapted to float in a body of water and be secured to a soap bar. The soap buoy includes a housing float which is bouyant in water and is connected through a cord element to a soap bar insertion member. The soap bar insertion member is inserted internal to the soap bar and allows visual observability of the location of the soap bar through observation of the housing float on the surface of the water. The housing float generally includes a transparent dome within which there is provided an elongate vertically directed element and a number of freely moveable hoop elements where the hoop elements may be displaced over the vertically directed elongate element. This combination of elements provides for a game like effect where the user may flip or otherwise try to displace the hoop elements over the vertically elongated element attached to the floor of the housing float. Still further, the housing float may include indicia of a pleasing esthetic effect to provide amusement for an operator.
