Abstract: A fuel delivery system is described in the present disclosure. The fuel delivery system includes a kidney loop filtration system for filtering fuel stored in a tank. The kidney loop filtration system is fluidly connected to the tank and to a fuel transfer pump. The kidney loop filtration system includes a pump, at least one primary filter, and a swing-check valve. The swing-check valve allows flow of fuel in a first direction in a first mode of operation and in a second direction in a second mode of operation. The swing-check valve further includes a flow passage and a perforated flap. The perforated flap filters fuel during the flow of fuel, in the second direction.

Abstract: A tip-resistant valve plug includes a valve head, first and second retention legs, and an anti-tip fin. The valve head includes a continuous partition defining a fluid barrier between a sealing side and an external side of the valve head. Each of the first and second retention legs extend from a leg base positioned at the sealing side of the valve head to a distal end of the retention leg. Each of the first and second retention legs include a plug catch configured to interfere with an inside diameter of a fluid flow orifice or a pressure relief spring. The respective distal ends of the retention legs are spaced apart from one another, and the anti-tip fin extends from the sealing side of the valve head in a direction of the respective distal ends of the retention legs.

  • Patent number: 8721875
Abstract: A hot-water supply system includes a switching valve (35) which has a bypass circuit which bypasses the water softening device (30) by directly connecting the water supply pipe (P1) and the inlet pipe (P3) of a hot-water supply device to each other, and a control unit (50). The control unit (50) includes a switching valve drive circuit which switches the switching valve (35) to the mode in which water is supplied from the water supply pipe (P1) to the hot-water supply device (1) via the bypass circuit, based on the determination of the timing of salt replenishment, and a display drive circuit which displays intention, in which salt replenishment is needed, on a display portion (51) of a remote controller (RC).

  • Patent number: 8709240
Abstract: An oil filter assembly is disclosed for a machine, such as an internal combustion engine, that has an oil output port and an input port. A mounting plate is fixed with an outer enclosure. The mounting plate is further adapted to conduct oil from the machine into a peripheral portion of the outer enclosure, and then returning oil from a central portion of the outer enclosure back to the machine. Oil may pass from the peripheral portion to the central portion through a primary filter having a first porosity. A pressure-actuated valve is fixed fluidly between the portions of the outer enclosure. Oil passes through the pressure actuated valve only when an oil pressure differential between the peripheral and central portions exceeds a threshold pressure. A secondary filter has a second porosity greater than the first porosity, and is fixed between the pressure-actuated valve and the central portion.

Abstract: Coolant conditioning unit for coolant of an internal combustion engine. The unit includes a cup-shaped housing, a removable cover for closing the housing, a replaceable filter insert arranged in the housing and being detachably connected to the cover, an inlet, an anti-drain valve that is normally open during filtering, and a stop valve arranged in the inlet. The stop valve is held in an open position by the filter insert and closes when the filter insert is removed from the housing and closes before the cover has been completely separated from the housing. This abstract is not intended to define the invention disclosed in the specification, nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.

  • Patent number: 8640881
Abstract: The invention relates to a screen changer in a system that processes flowable plastic. The screen changer includes an element, such as a portafilter, that is movable between two positions; two hydraulic pumps that effect position change of the screen changer; and a motor that operates both pumps. One pump provides greater flow volume and the other provides a lower flow volume, but with greater pressure. A non-return valve in the supply line to the hydraulic cylinder controls flow to the cylinder that moves the movable element between positions. The volume pump is used to move the movable element when resistance to movement of the screen is low and the high-pressure pump to move the element when resistance is high. The non-return valve selectively enables or interrupts flow from the pumps to the hydraulic cylinder. The screen changer allows use of a non-pressurized hydraulic fluid reservoir.
