  • Patent number: 10344219
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide a method and apparatus for stabilizing a product, such as a petroleum or other hydrocarbon based product, for example crude oil. Stabilization removes volatile components from the crude such that the crude product may be safely handled, stored, and/or transported. In one embodiment, the crude stabilization system includes at least a stabilizer column and an overhead system. Effluent from the stabilizer column may be fed directly into a suction inlet of a compressor system of the overhead system. The stabilizer column is preferably operated at low pressures and temperatures, thus making a desalting system unnecessary. Furthermore, overhead trim cooling, recycle cooling, and interstage cooling may be provided by the crude feed rather than air coolers or cooling water. • Patent number: 6761820
Abstract: A paint overspray particulate filtration system includes a collection tank, a floatation consolidation tank, and a vacuum filter assembly having a filter medium that traverses a pair of vacuum chambers. A positive displacement vacuum producer for the first vacuum chamber discharges a first supply of pressurized air at a temperature preferably greater than about 170° F. and a pressure preferably greater than about 6 psig, while a centrifugal compressor discharges a second supply of pressurized air at a temperature of perhaps up to 110° F. and at a pressure of perhaps 4 psig. The first pressurized air supply is heat exchanged with the second pressurized air supply, whereupon the cooled first pressurized air supply is directed through a submerged diffuser nozzle to aerate the collection tank and/or the consolidation tank. The warmed second pressurized air supply is directed onto the paint sludge carried atop the filter medium to enhance sludge dewatering.

  • Patent number: 6758969
Abstract: Generally, a magnetically enhanced oil filter apparatus includes a cartridge housing which includes an oil input channel and an outlet channel. The cartridge housing defines a cartridge interior space. A magnet unit is affixed to an outside portion of the cartridge housing, whereby a magnetic field from the magnet unit extends into the cartridge interior space providing an interior magnetic field zone. A hollow annular (e.g. cylindrical) filter element is employed. Filter positioning means are provided for supporting and positioning the hollow cylindrical filter element. Oil flow control means are positioned so that portions thereof enter the interior magnetic field zone, for directing oil flow to and from the hollow cylindrical filter element.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a point-of-use water treatment system unit. The unit includes a filter housing assembly having a filter tank assembly and a closure which utilizes a handle and cammed reciprocating lock blades to secure the closure to the filter tank assembly. A UV tank assembly includes a planar baffle plate and a vaned baffle plate to induce plug flow about a UV lamp assembly. A UV lamp assembly is used which simultaneously electrically and sealingly mounts to a UV tank assembly and electrical cap assembly using a bayonet mount. A bi-planar manifold assembly is used to interconnect components of the WTS unit and to provide an envelope for accommodating a water pipe assembly. The bi-planar manifold assembly enhances the compactness of the design of the WTS unit. Also, a support plate is disclosed which provides support to subcomponents of the WTS unit while also dissipating heat from a UV tank assembly.

  • Patent number: 6627072
Abstract: A paraffin filter system (10) includes an in-line low-profile particulate filter (20) connected to a suction tube (14) which is used as an inlet to the paraffin filter system (10). A paraffin pump (54) pumps the melted paraffin from a paraffin spa (12) through the particulate filter (20) to a transfer container (11) via a discharge tube (22). A heater (78) is controlled by control logic (146) to operate in certain modes to melt any residual paraffin in the filter (20) and pump (54) before operation of the pump (54). The control logic (146) provides various modes of operation of the filter system (10) to assure that the system is ready to operate, irrespective of the operation of a control panel switch (6) by the user. When the paraffin is transferred back to the spa (12) from the transfer container (11), the melted paraffin is carried through a bacteria filter (21) in the filter system (10).

  • Patent number: 6623634
Abstract: A liner and filter for filtering a heated tissue float water bath is described. In one embodiment, the liner and filter are a disposable one piece unit. In another embodiment, the liner and filter are two separate components and only the filter is disposable. The filter has a flat microcloth bottom and a plurality of support members extending across the flat microcloth bottom for sandwiching the microcloth there between to form the filter. The liner has a generally vertical wall with an outwardly extending top flange for positioning the liner and filter into the bath container and for easy removal. When the liner and filter are removed, the assembly carries with it any loose tissue fragments, paraffin or other contaminants, thus leaving the bath water clean and ready for reuse. The liner and filter can be circular, square or rectangular depending on the shape of the tissue float water bath container in which the invention is to be used.
