  • Patent number: 10889518
Abstract: The present invention provides a use of an inorganic salt or acid capable of producing free phosphate or fluoride ion in reducing the hardness and/or alkalinity of a water system containing residual antiscalant. In the lab test, it is found that the addition of a suitable amount of sodium phosphate or sodium fluoride may induce alkalinity reduction as well as hardness reduction. The production efficiency can be enhanced since the scaling was relieved and heat exchange efficiency can be improved. Meanwhile, lower scaling stress also means lower antiscalant dosage and cost, and thus the total operation cost can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 10745304
Abstract: Internally activated energy distribution guides for use in clear to turbid liquids or air have been developed. An external energy source is transferred to a matrix or single fiber of a side emitting fiber or guide to internally activate a promoter or catalyst on the exterior of the fiber or guide to thereby dissociate target molecules passing by or along the fiber's or guide's surface by a Precise Energy Separation (“PES”) method. A number of different designs can be used, for example, in a mesh, louver system, or box. The method maximizes the interaction between the target molecules and the surface of the side emitting—internally activated distribution network. In a preferred embodiment, u-shaped fiber optics containing catalyst are positioned within tube through which the turbid liquid or air is passed, so that maximum cleavage of targeted bonds is obtained.

An acid adding process includes adding an acid to and mixing with filtrate obtained in the MF membrane treatment process to render a pH value of the filtrate on the range from 5 to 9 and a negative Langeliar saturation index.

Abstract: The invention describes a method for treating sewage sludge through the treatment steps of hydrolysing (2) the sewage sludge (1) and digesting (11) the hydrolysed sewage sludge (10), which has undergone hydrolysis (2), for the anaerobic treatment of the sewage sludge (1), and through the step of separating phosphate from the at least partially treated sewage sludge (3). Phosphate is separated after the treatment step of hydrolysing (2) and before the treatment step of digesting (11) the hydrolysed sewage sludge (3), wherein the sewage sludge (10), without the phosphate portion separated in the phosphate separation step, is fed to the anaerobic treatment performed through digestion (11).
