Patent number: 5277803Abstract: This invention pertains to a multi-st vessel through which the to-be-cleaned fluid flows. Aeration assemblies within the inner cells disperse micro-fine gas bubbles into the fluid for cleaning purposes. Additionally, the inlet piping contains a separator that begins the separation process before this fluid is discharged into the first cell. An L-shaped passageway interconnects the various flotation cells of this separator with the entrance of each such passageway being at an elevation below its exit. A weir is located within each flotation cell that is adjustable as needed. This weir empties into a channel alongside the seprator vessel that collects the separated contaminants flowing over the weir for later disposal.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 1992Date of Patent: January 11, 1994Inventor: Paul C. Patent number: 5275742Abstract: Oxygen is separated from air by pressure swing adsorption in plant 2. The oxygen is passed through an ozone generator 4. The resulting ozonated oxygen is passed upwardly through a contactor 6 countercurrently to the flow of a side stream of water to be treated with ozone. The side stream containing dissolved ozone flows from the contactor 6 to a mixer 8 in which it is mixed with a main stream of water. The effluent gas from the contactor 6 contains air displaced from the water and undissolved oxygen. It is divided into two parts. One part flows to the pressure swing adsorption plant 2 and is separated therein with the air. The other part is dried by temperature swing adsorption in drier 20 and the resulting dried gas is ozonated in the ozone generator 4 with the oxygen from the plant 2.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 1992Date of Patent: January 4, 1994Assignee: The BOC Group plcInventors: Donald P. Patent number: 5271830Abstract: An installation for the filtration and cleansing of liquids, notably water, of the type having a loop for the circulation of the water to be treated, including at least one tangential filtration membrane, comprising a new tangential membrane filtration installation, with ozone injection, enabling the surface, internal and chemical clogging of the membrane to be restricted. The installation includes means for the addition of an oxidizing gas to the liquid to be treated, in the loop upstream of the membrane, so as to form microbubbles of said gas with a size such that they create turbulence in the liquid at the membrane and this turbulence, combined with the phenomenon of oxidation, restricts the clogging of said membrane and leads to an improvement in the flow rate and in the physical/chemical qualities of the filtrate. If necessary, it includes means for the injecting of chemical reagents and/or absorbents into the filtration loop.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 1990Date of Patent: December 21, 1993Assignee: Gie Anjou-RechercheInventors: Michel Faivre, Annie Tazy-Pain

Patent number: 5262047Abstract: The local reclamation system includes an accumulation tank for a soiled solution. A tank outlet valve selectively allows a flow of the solid soiled solution into the remainder of the system. A blend conduit leads from the outlet valve. An oxidizing supply selectively provides an oxidizing agent to said soiled solution downstream of the outlet valve in the blend conduit. A blend pump receives the soiled solution with oxidizing agent to promote the flow of the soiled solution through the system and a more uniformed disposal of the oxidizing agent throughout the solution. A six stage filter section selectively removes particulate matter. A biologic stage promotes a sterile reclaimed solution and a solution accumulator accumulates and stores the solution. Repeated injections of oxidizing agents occur before filter stage sections and pumps. The reclaimed solution can be reused or discharged without penalty.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 1992Date of Patent: November 16, 1993Inventors: Charles O. Benskin, Harley A. Weisse
