Abstract: Provided is a water ionizer which can detect a detection target installed at a predetermined position of a genuine filter to recognize that a genuine filter is loaded, which makes it possible to raise the reliability of the water ionizer and to extend the lifespan of the water ionizer. The water ionizer capable of recognizing a genuine filter, which has a water purifying filter for filtering foreign matters contained in original water, includes a sensor that is operated by a detection target attached to a proper position of a filter case of the water purifying filter; and a controller that checks whether a genuine water purifying filter is loaded or not, based on the sensing result of the sensor, and then stops the operation of the water ionizer when a genuine water purifying filter is not loaded. The water ionizer may further include a guide unit that guides the water purifying filter such that the water purifying filter is loaded at a predetermined position of the water ionizer.

Abstract: A liquid filter, in particular for the lubricating oil of an internal combustion engine, having a housing with an inlet and an outlet formed from a housing pot having a substantially downwardly open filter element installation opening and a screw-on cover that closes the installation opening, and a filter element arranged in the housing, sealingly separating the inlet from the outlet. The screw-on cover has a drain for residual liquid present in the housing with a round drain opening arranged in the central axis of the housing. A device for opening and closing the drain opening is arranged in the area of the drain and connected to an end disk of the filter element so that it moves relative to the drain opening and opens the drain when the cover is unscrewed.

Abstract: Fluid separation assembly that allows easy and fast change-out even in confined spaces, and also minimizes or eliminates leakage during change-out. A fluid separation unit having a housing containing separation means, the housing having an inlet and an outlet spaced from the inlet, each including a fitting for attachment of the housing to a manifold or other device allowing fluid communication through the separation means to a point of use is provided. The fittings are designed for quick connect/disconnect, and for minimal or no leakage. The fittings may be on opposite ends, with top and bottom fittings of different configurations, thereby ensuring proper installation of the assembly. The particular medium to be separated is not particularly limited, and can include slurries, fluids including water, and pre-loaded chromatography columns.

Abstract: The invention relates to a filter device having a filter housing part (10) which comprises a filter element (12) and which can be detachably connected to the other filter housing part (20). Because there is a valve means (24) which clears a fluid path in the interconnected state of the housing parts (10, 20) and in the separated state of the housing parts (10, 20) from one another at least partially blocks it, instead of known quarter-turn fastener and stopper solutions a blocking means is devised which can be economically implemented and which requires decidedly less installation space. The invention relates also to a process for operation of a filter device.
