  • Patent number: 8956537
Abstract: Disclosed are a hollow fiber membrane module, a filtration apparatus based on the same, and a method for manufacturing the filtration apparatus. The hollow fiber membrane module includes two headers respectively provided with a permeate collecting unit therein, wherein each of the headers has grooves on its two sides, the grooves being extended in a length direction of the hollow fiber membrane. Since one slide rod can simultaneously be inserted into grooves of two adjacent hollow fiber membrane modules, the hollow fiber membrane modules can mutually serve as guides for insertion/ejection thereof. Also, since the grooves formed on the header can serve as insertion holes into which a clamp is inserted, the clamp can be used for coupling between the hollow fiber membrane module and another element and reinforcement of the coupling.

  • Patent number: 5387339
Abstract: A high efficiency, self-cleaning system for separating solid materials from liquids. The system includes a primary housing having at least one inlet and a plurality of cylindrical filter cartridges therein which are directly adjacent to and in close proximity with each other. The lower end of each cartridge is positioned on a spring-biased bearing member, with the upper end having an opening therein. Positioned within the opening and connected to each cartridge is a tubular shaft attached to a pulley-type motor drive system. The drive system is used to rotate the cartridges in a selected direction. In operation, fluids to be filtered enter the housing and come in direct contact with the rotating cartridges. Rotation of the multiple cartridges and close proximity of the cartridges to each other creates fluid turbulence within the housing. This turbulence scrubs collected solids from the cartridges and promotes fluid flow into the cartridges.

  • Patent number: 4395331
Abstract: An apparatus for pressing liquid out of suspensions containing liquid, comprising a screw feeder (5) adapted to feed the suspensions towards a dewatering zone (2) in which there are disposed two converging endless filter members (20, 21) adapted to be driven round a pair of back and front breaking rollers (18a, 18b). The pressing angle (.alpha.) between the filter members can be varied as can the speed of the filter members in relation to the material which is fed forwards in order to achieve an optimum flow resistance for each suspension. In certain cases, this can be very high. A worm wheel (13) is provided to prevent material from retreating in the screw thread (11).According to one form of embodiment, two or more dewatering zones are disposed in series one after the other, thus further increasing the possibilities for achieving optimum dewatering conditions.

  • Patent number: 4268391
Abstract: A slide-plate filter apparatus particularly for plastic stock under pressure in which rigid filter plate sections carrying corresponding sections of filter media are fed in a continuing sequence across the flow path of the plastic stock is provided with off-set retainer plates for directing plastic stock which is forced between the filter plate sections into a path which includes filter media, so that no unfiltered plastic stock can pass through the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4124507
Abstract: A filtering apparatus with hollow filters that are alternately placed under reduced pressure and positive pressure. The filters are reciprocally rotated through a cycle along a 180.degree. arcuate path from immersion in the unfiltered liquid to a discharge station and back again. Whle immersed and under reduced pressure, each filter passes liquid and captures cake against its surface. The filter is kept under reduced pressure and rotated to a discharge station. The reduced pressure during this portion of the cycle holds the cake against the filter and dries it. At the discharge station, the filters are placed under positive pressure to dislodge the cake and kept under positive pressure as they are rotated back toward the unfiltered liquid. The discharge station has movable scrapers that contact the filters as they are being rotated back to the unfiltered liquid to assist in dislodging the cake.

  • Patent number: 4088580
Abstract: Apparatus for separating particulate matter from a flowing fluid which, for example, may be sand entrained in a flowing stream of oil and gas, comprises an assembly including a plurality of small diameter tubular elements, the walls of which have a selected permeability to said fluid. The tubular elements are held with their axes parallel between a pair of headers by suitable tension means. The interior of the tubes are connected to at least one plenum and to a well tubing. When this assembly is inserted into a well producing oil and gas which carries sand, the sand will be deposited against the outer walls of the tubular elements since the grain diameters are greater than the size of the openings in the walls of the tubular elements. The fluid flows through the openings in the wall of the tubular element, into the plenum and then through the well tubing to the surface of the well. By using suitable headers at each end, a plurality of these assemblies can be connected in series.

  • Patent number: 4048074
Abstract: To separate solid particles from liquids or gas, the liquid or the gas is passed through a coil, formed from one or more threads wound on a carrier. After subsequent washing and drying, the solid which has been filtered out during the filtration process is removed by unwinding the coil from the carrier, the latter consisting of a permeable hollow cylinder closed at both end faces by means of end plates, and provided with a feed orifice.
