  • Patent number: 10603610
Abstract: During the process of compressing air, atmospheric air along with water vapor and airborne contaminants are ingested into the air compressor. Many of these compressors utilize oil for lubrication, sealing and cooling. A compressor system utilizes drain valves to remove the condensate that accumulates in the system which are typically located on the compressor, moisture separators, coalescing filters, receivers, dryers, and drip legs. While the drain valves successfully remove the condensate, this condensate is now contaminated with lubricant. The compressor system also includes a filter for the removal of lubricant from the condensed water so that the water can be discharged to sewer. The filter is arranged to house a series of vertically stacked filter cartridges, each cartridge structured to pass fluid flow to the other cartridge. The housing is connected to the filter cartridges via a variable length pipe extension dependent on the number of filter cartridges used in an application.

First and second paper rolls as filter elements (14 and 15) have been pushed under compression into the hollow body (11) and are separated by spacer means (16) located centrally within the hollow body (11). Spacer means (16) is made from two separate spacers (18) which are generally made in the form of a spoked wheel type arrangement. Each spacer (18) comprises an outer ring (19) and an inner ring (20), the inner ring (20) has four apertures or recesses (21) on its top and offset by 45 degrees equally on its opposite side are four more equally spaced apertures (21) making a total of eight, the apertures provide flow through passages (21) through the inner ring (20), plastic connector portions (22) extend radially between the rings (19 and 20).

  • Patent number: 8002981
Abstract: A “no filter, no run” filtration system that is designed to verify that an appropriate filter cartridge is installed. A flow control sleeve is provided on a standpipe to control the flow of fluid, for example fuel, into the standpipe. The sleeve can be axially moveable between closed and open positions, with one or more members on an installed filter cartridge designed to release the sleeve to permit the movement from the closed position to the open position to allow fluid flow. A spring acts on the sleeve to bias the sleeve back to the closed position upon removal of the filter cartridge. The sleeve can also be designed without axial movement, but nonetheless is configured to be opened and closed to control fluid flow into the standpipe.

Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method for bypassing a fuel filter pressure regulation valve which includes a bypass window and bypass passage. The bypass passage window is positioned in the top of a standpipe of a filter. The filter includes a filter cartridge with top and bottom end plates. The top end plate of the filter cartridge has a hole to receive a standpipe. The top end plate also has a sealing gasket to seal the bypass passage window when the proper filter cartridge is in place. This arrangement exposes the regulator valve to the fuel and/or air at the top of the filter housing when the proper filter cartridge is in place. Pressure in the housing opens the valve, allowing air and/or fuel to be vented through the bypass passage and back to the fuel tank.

Abstract: A filter unit of type in which liquid to be filtered is made to flow from a center channel through a bottom channel to a side channel. The filter unit has enhanced air removing performance, and the residual amount of the liquid is reduced by reducing the so-called hold-up volume. A filter unit constructed such that liquid to be filtered, introduced into a housing (20) from an inlet (31) of a lid (30), is sent to a bottom channel (40) after being made to pass through a center channel (14) of a core member (13), sent to a side channel (41) from the bottom channel (40), filtered by being made to pass through a filter member (11) from the side channel (41) to radially inward, and then led to an outlet (32) of the lid (30) along the outer periphery of the core member. On the outer periphery of the core member (13), there are arranged a protrusion (15) and a recess (16). The protrusion (15) supports the inner periphery of the filter member (11) during filtration.
