Abstract: An air filter has a housing, a filter core, a resilient abutting element, a sleeve, a threaded rod bracket, a threaded rod and a nut. The axial sealing is achieved by axially compressing the resilient abutting element, such that the user does not have to apply much physical effort to compress the resilient abutting element. The user can easily push the filter core into the housing, and then rotates and tightens the nut, which can axially compress the resilient abutting element. It is easy to apply force on rotating the nut, and better still, the nut can be rotated by an electric tool, which further facilitates the convenience in assembling. Besides, the nut only abuts the sleeve, and the threaded rod bracket does not abut the filter core. Consequently, the filter core is not blocked, thereby making the air smoothly pass through the filter core.

The filter element has a first end cap, a second end cap, and a continuous ring of filter media disposed between the first and second end caps. The first end cap defines a fuel flow port which is coaxial with the longitudinal axis. A plurality of resilient element retention arms extend axially from the first end cap, and surround the fuel flow port. The arms terminate in retention barbs which are mateable with the annular lip. The resilient retention arms hold the retention barbs against the annular lip, suspending the filter element within the cartridge.

Abstract: A filter cartridge in accordance with the present disclosure has a longitudinal axis and comprises a housing, a filter element, and a collar. The housing has a generally cylindrical sidewall and defines an open first end, an axially opposite second end, and a flange projecting radially away from the axis at the first end. The filter element has a ring of filter media circumscribing the axis and extending between first and second end caps. The first end cap has a generally cylindrical wall extending axially between first and second peripheral rims. The wall defines first and second seal glands adjacent the first and second rims which receive first and second seal members, respectively. A ledge projects radially outwardly from the cylindrical wall. The collar has an annular sidewall having a shoulder projecting from an inner surface. The ledge and the shoulder radially overlap and retain the flange therebetween.
