  • Patent number: 9393506
Abstract: A fluid filter comprising a housing, a releasable cover and a replaceable filter having a filter body and two end plates. The filter is placed on a housing standpipe which has on its free side, facing the cover, an axially displaceable endpiece. The endpiece is preloaded in the expulsion direction and in that position is blocked by a locking system against insertion which prevents the cover from connecting with the housing. An unlocking device guided by the filter unlocks the locking system and allows insertion of the endpiece. The locking system is formed by locking tabs which are radially movable, and each have a locking face facing in the axial direction. The tabs are preloaded in the locking direction and each lock the endpiece in its expelled position against axial insertion relative to the standpipe. The tabs can be radially moved into their unlocking position by the unlocking device.

  • Patent number: 9346000
Abstract: An air filter has a housing, a filter core, a resilient abutting element, a sleeve, a threaded rod bracket, a threaded rod and a nut. The axial sealing is achieved by axially compressing the resilient abutting element, such that the user does not have to apply much physical effort to compress the resilient abutting element. The user can easily push the filter core into the housing, and then rotates and tightens the nut, which can axially compress the resilient abutting element. It is easy to apply force on rotating the nut, and better still, the nut can be rotated by an electric tool, which further facilitates the convenience in assembling. Besides, the nut only abuts the sleeve, and the threaded rod bracket does not abut the filter core. Consequently, the filter core is not blocked, thereby making the air smoothly pass through the filter core.

Abstract: Provided are filtration devices for purifying fluids from bioprocess applications and processes for using the same. The fluid filter elements or cells and fluid filter assemblies or capsules minimize upstream and residual volumes by the use of substantially flat interior surfaces. Desired pressure ratings are also met without the use of external equipment. Such capsules and assemblies can be disposable. The cells and capsules are in particular suitable for intermediate filtration volumes (150-2500 cm2 effective filtration area (EFA)) of biopharmaceutical processes. One or more of the following features are also provided by these cells and capsules: ergonomic connections, stand alone device with desired pressure rating, offer a small footprint when running in series or parallel, ability to monitor fluid level during operation, provide various EFA sizes to allow for use with minimal fluid volumes, and offer an integral seal between clean and dirty process fluid streams.
