Publication number: 20130193063Abstract: The present invention provides a novel nonwoven felt fabric, which is made of at least one low-melting-point short fiber and at least one high-melting-point short fiber of same type or different types, wherein the fabric is stiff enough to be self-sustaining and have the ability of shape maintenance. The felt fabric exhibits excellent pleatability, moldability and compressive strength. The invention also provides a method for producing the felt fabric, and a filter comprising the felt fabric used as the material of a filter medium of the filter, wherein the filter medium requires no support structure to stand alone and persistently retains its shape.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 28, 2011Publication date: August 1, 2013Inventors: Ying Yuk Ng, Gilbert Craig

Publication number: 20130174527Abstract: A three-dimensional filter includes a filter frame having a three-dimensional skeletal structure with a filter media connected to the skeletal structure. The filters are nestable. The skeletal structure may be trimmed and provided with walls to create standard sized filters. Methods for making the three-dimensional filter include injection molding of the skeletal structure onto the filter media, injection molding the filter media and the filter frame together in a single molding process, thermoforming a molded or extruded skeletal structure and the filter media, and needle punching a molded or extruded skeletal structure to create filter media within the skeletal structure.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 21, 2012Publication date: July 11, 2013Applicant: Diversitech CorporationInventor: Diversitech Corporation

Publication number: 20130146529Abstract: The invention relates to a filter material for fluids, in particular hydraulic fluids, comprising a single- or multi-layered filter medium (6) and a supporting structure which rests flatly on the at least one side thereof and consists of at least one individual fabric (10, 12) made of warp threads (28) and weft threads (32). Said filter material is characterized in that at least one set of warp threads (28) and/or weft threads (32) overlaps three or more adjacent warp threads (28) and/or weft threads (32) while forming a long-float weave.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 27, 2011Publication date: June 13, 2013Inventors: Matthias Schwender, Andreas Schmitz, Edwin Koch

Patent number: 8454829Abstract: The present disclosure describes a spiral cross-flow filter. The spiral cross-flow filter includes a filter element having a continuous web of leaves formed by pleating a laminate filter element. The filter element may include a composite filter material including a first layer of a membrane material adjacent an outer shell, and a second layer of a permeate spacer material adjacent a permeate tube. The plurality of leaves wrap around the permeate tube in a uniform “spiral” configuration and may be separated by feed spacers.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2009Date of Patent: June 4, 2013Inventor: Scott P.
