  • Patent number: 11975287
Abstract: A roll forming method may be used to provide a pleated filter media pack and filter cartridges with channels formed. The pack includes a strip of a filter media extending opposed edges and opposed front and back sides. The strip is pleat tips with spacer structure such as integrally formed embossments maintaining a spacing between pleat panels. The inlet and outlet flow faces are created by the edges of the filter media rather than the pleat tips. Alternating pairs of pleat panels are closed such as by seal beads at the inlet and outlet flow faces.

  • Patent number: 11904191
Abstract: A respirator that includes a harness and a mask body that is air permeable. The mask body has a sinus region and a primary filtering region and at least one nonwoven fibrous web. The sinus region of the mask body exhibits a resistance to airflow that is greater than the primary filtering region. This resistance to airflow is achieved through an alteration of the intrinsic structure of the plurality of nonwoven fibrous layers in the sinus region without adding additional material to the mask body. The alteration of the intrinsic structure assists in preventing eyewear fogging.

  • Patent number: 11684898
Abstract: Embodiments provide a filter with a generally rectangular, non-cylindrical profile. The filter may have multiple pleat packs positioned between pleat covers that define regions and flow channels in a cavity of the filter body. The pleat covers have openings that allow a fluid to flow through the multiple pleat packs via parallel flows or series flows. End caps bonded to the body define flow passages for directing the fluid from an inlet to an outlet via the pleat packs for series or parallel filtration. The pleat packs may be made of the same or different materials and may be configured with the same or different heights based on flow requirements. A cage or a separator may be positioned between the pleat packs. The pleat packs may be made of a continuous pleated membrane with bridges defining a space between the pleat packs to accommodate the cage or separator.

  • Patent number: 9597847
Abstract: A method is provided for making an annular reinforcement structure having inner and outer reinforcement bands maintained in concentric alignment by a resilient spacing element positioned between the bands. The method includes the steps of placing the spacing element against the inside face of the outer reinforcement band and compressing the spacing element with a jig, adjacent the top edge of the outer reinforcement band. The spacing element is sufficiently compressed to allow the inner reinforcement band to slide into concentric alignment with the outer reinforcement band, with a minimum of deflection and/or distortion of the inner reinforcement band.
