  • Patent number: 8945256
Abstract: A desanding system has an elongated vessel that is tilted at a non-zero inclination angle. A fluid inlet at the vessel's upper end discharges a gas stream having entrained liquids and particulates and a fluid outlet into a freeboard portion formed adjacent an upper portion of the vessel above a gas/liquid interface formed below the fluid outlet. A belly storage portion is formed below the interface. The freeboard portion of the vessel has a freeboard cross-sectional area that diminishes along the interface from the fluid inlet to a fluid outlet spaced away from and lower than the fluid inlet. The cross-sectional are of the freeboard portion causes precipitation of the entrained liquids and particulates therefrom and collect in the belly portion of the vessel. A desanded gas stream, being free of a substantial portion of the particulates is removed from the vessel through the fluid outlet.

  • Publication number: 20140374336
Abstract: The present invention presents a filtration system with an integrated manifold valve. The filtration system employs only one pivotal component—the pivoting of the manifold. The manifold valve includes a dual aperture design for a two-fold alignment scheme with the ingress and egress lines of the fluid source. The invention is free of multi-component rotary valve with internal, rotatable parts, or an activation component, such as a handle, for initiating the rotary valve, allowing the user to rotate the rotational components thereof. The reduction in moveable components in this design reduces the likelihood of failure and increases the reliability of the filtration system.

Adjacent leg members of the plurality of leg members are spaced apart by a distance to thereby form a plurality of radial passages defining a plurality of radial fluid-flow paths there between. Each leg member of the plurality of leg members includes: a head portion having an upper surface. The head portion includes a nose portion extending radially outwardly from the head portion. The nose portion includes a ramp surface and a lower surface. The ramp surface of the nose portion is connected to the upper surface of the head portion to define an upper edge.

Abstract: A plastic end disk for a filter element has a disk-shaped-section sealing an end face of a star-pleated bellows and has a hollow-cylindrical section extending away from the disk-shaped-section. An inner side of the hollow-cylindrical section radially seals the plastic end disk on a receiving pin by an O-ring. The hollow-cylindrical section has noses arranged on the inner side that extend into the interior the hollow-cylindrical section. The noses house an O-ring. The noses include first noses extending in a first plane parallel to the disk-shaped-section and second noses extending in a second plane that is spaced apart from the first plane in axial direction. The first noses are displaced relative to the second noses such that the first noses, when projected axially onto the second plane, and the second noses do not overlap and an undercut-free configuration of the plastic end disk is provided.

Abstract: A flush plug and a collar are used in installing a drain or cleanout. A flush plug is temporarily attached to the nipple of a cleanout or to a drain base and leveled. Concrete is then poured flush with the top of the flush plug. After the flush plug is removed from the cured concrete, a collar is installed in the hole in the concrete left by the flush plug. The outside of the lower portion of the collar is beveled like the flush plug. The upper portion of the collar includes a sleeve rising above the top surface of the surrounding concrete by an amount equal to the thickness of the specific floor finish. Tile or other finish may then be laid to around the collar. The installed drain will be flush and level with the flooring around it.

In accordance with the present invention, an antifreeze agent in introduced only into that part of the dialysis liquid system of the blood treatment device that includes the volume lying upstream of a sterile filter with which sterile substituate is recovered from the dialysis liquid. Accordingly, that part of the dialysis liquid system that includes the volume lying downstream of the sterile filter is not filled with an antifreeze agent. The present invention makes it possible, after removal of the sterile filter, to easily and safely separate a substituate segment from the rest of the dialysis liquid system and drain off liquid located in the substituate segment.
