  • Patent number: 5775523
Abstract: A modular shelf organizer for partitioning a shelf. The organizer includes a plurality of trays each having a floor and four short upright walls, and a fence for spanning adjacent trays. The fence forms a storage compartment between two trays, and prevents stored items from rolling off the shelf. • Patent number: 5190166
Abstract: A support or separation, especially a book-end consists of a resilient element (1) and a support element (2). The support or the separation achieves its function by, that the branch (5) of the resilient element, which engages the underside of the shelf and the upper branch (3), which the support element slides upon, is wedge shape, thereby one can adapt the support or separation to the thickness of the shelf by displacing the support element on the resilient element. Hereby is obtained a surface pressure between the parts, which results in, that the support is self-locking, and hereby is the function of the support or the separation obtained. The two holes in the support element are placed so, that by turning the support element upside down variations in adaption to the doubled thickness of the shelf can be obtained.

The trays are separated from one another at two opposed sides by panels which support and space the trays from one another, and a riser member is attached to the top of the uppermost tray. The tray elements are formed from separate cut and scored blanks of corrugated paperboard or the like, and include slots in the upper and lower edges of two opposed side walls for accommodating locking tabs integral with the support/spacer panels. The support/spacer panels are also formed from separate cut and scored blanks of corrugated paperboard or the like. Each element of the invention can be collapsed for shipment and set up at the point-of-use by hand for accommodating the desired product. Alternatively, the elements of the invention can be set up and loaded with product prior to shipment. As product is sold, the empty trays and support/spacer elements can be removed from the display stand or restocked.

  • Patent number: 4909398
Abstract: A magazine or paper rack storage system including one or more interconnectable racks, the rack system being mountable in any of three independent orientations. Each rack comprises two side panels, a base panel and a back panel. One side panel has an opening therein which permits the viewing of items in the rack and the placement of items in the rack when such is oriented as a tray. The other side panel covers a larger area thereby serving as the bottom of the rack, again, when the rack is positioned as a tray. A rack interconnection arrangement includes a pair of spaced integral slots on the base panel in combination with interconnecting spline members. The slots include a ridge to provide a friction three-point engagement with the spline. The rack interconnection arrangement further includes a tab fitted into slots which slots are located generally within the side panels at positions spaced from the bottom panel.

  • Patent number: 4887754
Abstract: A portable apparatus for retaining a bicycle in the manner of a conventional bicycle repair stand, and which can be used in conjunction with a conventional sports rack attached to the roof of a car or van. The apparatus can be attached to the conventional bicycle sports rack which is attached to the roof of a car and therefore utilizes the car and the sports rack as the supporting body framework to hold and support a bicycle in any desired orientation. The apparatus comprises an elongated member whose exterior cross-sectional dimensions are slightly smaller than the interior cross-sectional dimensions of the elongated base of a conventional sports rack attached to the roof of a vehicle, and is fitted into the interior section of the elongated base of the sports rack and retained therein by a press fit. Additional portions attached to the elongated section support a clamping mechanism which can retain a portion of a bicycle such as the horizontal tube of the frame.

Abstract: The file tray comprises a plurality of superposed file boxes (1-3) interconnected by guide-rods (4-7) in such a way that an upper box can be spaced from a lower one. For the purpose of limiting their rotation, the guide-rods are provided with stop means comprising blocking ridges (16) on heels (4a-71, 4b-7b) joined to the guide-rods. The heels co-operate with rims projecting toward the guide-rods from the edges of the boxes.

  • Patent number: 4848574
Abstract: A container (10) for computer floppy diskettes (D) and the like includes a body portion (11, 12, 13, 14, 15) open at the top and a cover (16) attached to the body portion (11, 12, 13, 14, 15) by a hinge assembly (45) which limits the movement of the cover (16) such that when it is fully open, it extends generally vertically upward thereby not unnecessarily using space. The container (10) is provided with file dividers (29) which are arcuately movable therein. Upon closure of the cover (16), if one or more of the dividers (29) is in the way, a camming surface (44) carried by cover (16) engages the divider (29) and swings it out of the way so that complete closure can be effected.

  • Patent number: 4796761
Abstract: A modulable oblique bin, in particular for the sorting of documents, which includes a series of compartments laid out side by side within a container having two parallel vertical walls connected to each other at the lower ends thereof by a horizontal wall. The compartments consist of a plurality of obliquely-oriented divider units nested together and disposed within the container, each dividing unit having first, second, third and fourth planar sections connected together in series in end-to-end relationship to form a unit having a W-shaped cross-section. The adjacent sections are at right angles to each other and form inner and outer corners at the intersection of said sections. The first section extends obliquely upward from the horizontal wall and is the longest of the four sections, the second section is next longest, and the third section is the shortest section.
