Patent number: 6601713Abstract: A method and apparatus for easily and inexpensively coupling slides together. A spring that couples to one slide engages an opening in an adjoining slide to latch the two slides together in a fully extended position. The spring includes a protrusion that is angled on one side and that is abruptly raised on the other side. The two slides are easily coupled by engaging angled edges of the two slides and moving the slides together. As the protrusion reaches the opening, the force of the spring causes the protrusion to enter the opening such that the slides are in the latched position. Continued movement causes the angled side of the protrusion to contact the side of the opening and moves the protrusion out of the opening, allowing the second slide to be moved into the unextended position. Thereby slides are easily coupled together without the use of any tools. In addition, the slides are easily uncoupled by deforming the spring and moving the slides lengthwise.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2001Date of Patent: August 5, 2003Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventor: Joseph W. Each display tray has opposite marginal side walls extending downward and transversely extending support beams intersecting the longitudinal ribs. The downward extending side walls extend below the bottom surfaces of the longitudinal ribs thus establishing a basement where the bottom surfaces of the ribs constitute the ceiling of the basement. This basement is a space suitable for receiving downward extending tabs of the partition to engage and stabilize such partition with the display track.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 30, 2002Publication date: July 17, 2003Inventors: Richard Jay, Marty L. Publication number: 20030111436Abstract: A rack rail assembly having an adjustable length that can be installed, without any tools or loose hardware, into a rack having mounting holes that are square or circular. It is also preferred that the rack rail assembly be reversible and able to support sliding and fixed deployment modes as well as cable mounting equipment. Accordingly, one preferred embodiment of the rack rail assembly comprises inner and outer rail members that are slidingly engaged. The rail members are adjustable lengthwise to be able to be used with various depth racks. The assembly further comprises a primary locking mechanism that locks the rails together at the desired length. The primary locking mechanism is further coupled to a biasing mechanism that allows the rails to be compressed for installation within a rack. Each end of the rail assembly has at least two pins that interface with mounting holes located in the rack. Preferably, the pins are capable of interfacing with circular or rectangular mounting holes.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2001Publication date: June 19, 2003Inventors: Ray G. Basinger, John R. Patent number: 6575315Abstract: A display rack includes an upright that supports a crosspiece and one or more shelves. Each shelf includes two clips, and each clip includes a lip element configured to fit over and to engage an upper surface of the crosspiece, and a spring element configured to snap-lock against a lower, opposed side of the crosspiece. The first and second clips are positioned on the shelf such as the shelf is mountable on the crosspiece in three different positions: a first position, in which each clip is disposed on a respective side of the upright; a second position, in which both clips are disposed on a first side of the upright; and a third position, in which both clips are disposed on the other side of the upright.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2001Date of Patent: June 10, 2003Inventor: Richard L. Patent number: 6554142Abstract: In one aspect of the present disclosure, a rack system includes a pair of arm assemblies that include an arm with reversible brackets on either end of each arm. The arm assemblies attach to the rack rails and support a component such as a server. The brackets are formed to selectively rotate with respect to the arm between a first position and a second position. In the first position the brackets are operable to interface a rack system rails that have a first interface type. In the second position the brackets are operable to interface rack system rails that have a second interface type. This allows the arm assembly to be installed in different types of rack systems.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2001Date of Patent: April 29, 2003Assignee: Dell Products L.P.Inventor: Randolph D. Gray

Publication number: 20030029819Abstract: Channel 22 is inserted into channel 21 and placed inside a closet above the door. The channels are extended until they touch both side walls of the closet. Screws go through slots in both channels and are screwed into the wall. This installs the Closet Hiding Place. Valuables, dangerous items, or private items can then be lowered into the channels. Items can be removed by reaching into the channel and lifting the items out. The Closet Hiding Place is in a high, poorly lit, and poorly observable place. This innovative place of installation helps guard the items.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 7, 2001Publication date: February 13, 2003Inventor: Michael Thomas Pavlic
