    Abstract: A lightweight cross-beam for a storage rack made of a single sheet of steel with a Z-style cross sectional configuration includes a generally vertical upper wall with upper and lower edges; a generally horizontal support wall extending inwardly from the lower edge of the upper wall; an angled intermediate wall extending downwardly and outwardly from the inner edge of the generally horizontal wall; and a generally vertical lower wall that extends downwardly from the outer edge of the angled wall. The angle between the generally horizontal support wall and the angled wall is about 60°. The upper and lower walls are generally in the same vertical plane. Upper and lower rivets extend outwardly from the upper and lower walls at each end of the cross-beam. The vertical distance between the upper and lower rivets is 3 inches. The length of the cross-beam is at least about 96 inches.
