Patent number: 7611020Abstract: Opposed walls of three hingedly attached grid walls are secured to one another by a first strap having folded back ends for partially encircling a segment of a wire element of each opposed grid wall. A second strap is placed adjacent the first strap with the ends of the second strap bearing against the partially encircled wire elements to retain the wire elements within the respective folded back ends. Nylon ties or bolts may be used to secure the first and second straps to one another. Two or more pairs of first and second straps support a grid wall serving as a shelf and the shelf may be secured to the straps by pairs of nylon ties. To provide mobility to the display rack, fixed or pivotable wheels are supported by the lowermost pairs of first and second straps and may be secured thereto by nylon ties or by nut and bolt combinations. A billboard unit having four panels is formed by two three-segmented panels placed orthogonally upon one another to permit upward bending of the pairs of outer panels.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 2006Date of Patent: November 3, 2009Inventor: J. Patent number: 7588214Abstract: A support structure (1) is provided comprising a plurality of curved surfaces A, B hingedly interconnected along their edges such as to provide effective deployment in two separate stages. Preferably, the structure has only two curved surfaces hingedly interconnected at a single non-planar hinge line. In FIG. 1(a), the two sheets A, B are coplanar in that they lie in the same horizontal plane, permitting the structure to be in a flat, first stage deployment position. In Figure (b), the structure is fully deployed in a second stage deployment position by bringing sheet A out of plane through some angle in relation to the position of sheet B, resulting in both sheets becoming curved. The structure has utility in various space-based as well as terrestrial reflective and absorbing applications, and bears definite advantage in terms of weight saving, high stiffness and well-defined surface precision.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2004Date of Patent: September 15, 2009Assignees: Astrium Limited, Cambridge University Technical ServicesInventors: Alan M Watt, Sergio Pellegrino, Phillip A. The top of the sheet supports may be cushioned with appropriate resilient material.Type: GrantFiled: January 9, 2004Date of Patent: November 23, 2004Assignee: Cardinal CG CompanyInventors: Marion Michael Jeskey, Michael Jeffery Wade

Publication number: 20040134866Abstract: The present invention in an embodiment provides a rack including fingers which are pivotally mounted so that when an actuator is moved to an extended condition the fingers will simultaneously move to an extended position approximately perpendicular to the upper surface of the rack so that items may be placed thereon for uses such as drying. The fingers are pivotally attached to the actuator so that, upon movement to a retracted position, the fingers will pivot downward and to a retracted position below the upper surface providing a flat rack that is easily stored. The rack also includes a liquid indicator for identifying whether liquid is present within a base of the rack.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 10, 2003Publication date: July 15, 2004Inventors: Goeran Jerstroem, Boris Kontorovich, Alec Drummond, Arsenio Garcia Monsalve, Sally Bernadine Rumble, Steven Dibdin, Conor P.
