Patent number: 5082129Abstract: A screw-cap type container comprises a container or bottle having a screw thread and an annular flange formed on a neck thereof. The flange is discontinuous to define a locking slot between its opposite ends. A closure cap has an internal screw thread for engaging the screw thread of the container to releasably secure the closure cap thereon. A lock tab, secured to the closure cap, normally engages within the locking slot to prevent relative rotation between the closure cap and container, when they are threadably secured together. When appropriate finger pressure is applied to the lock tab, it will disengage the locking slot for permitting the closure cap to be unscrewed and removed from the container. The closure cap may be of the "reminder" type for visually displaying information to a user relating to periodic use of the contents of the container.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 1990Date of Patent: January 21, 1992Assignee: Medcor, Inc.Inventor: Steven G. Patent number: 5082130Abstract: The present invention is directed to a child resistance container and lid which utilizes a semi-flexible ring. The snap lid which is utilized in the present invention container is substantially set into the top of the container and this lid has one component of either an extended lift member or an indented lift guide. The ring has the other component of either the extended lift member or the indented lift guide. When the ring is rotated, the snap lid cannot be opened. The snap lid can only be opened when the ring is simultaneously squeezed and rotated. In an alternative embodiment, the two component lift system is utilized wherein both components extend outwardly rather than one extending outwardly and one indented. They have geometric configurations so that one first slides past the other and then, in their reverse motion, one lifts the other so as to lift up a lid during operation.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 1990Date of Patent: January 21, 1992Assignee: Primary Delivery Systems, Inc.Inventor: Jack Weinstein

Patent number: 5074424Abstract: This relates to the provision of a closure having a mechanically actuated button with a tamper indicating arrangement. A transparent panel overlies the end panel of the closure and there is provided a message indicia either on the upper surface of the button or the under surface of the transparent panel with their being carried by the transparent panel a pleated screen which shields the message indicia either by overlying the same or by blending with the message indicia in color. One end of the pleated screen is fixedly attached to the transparent panel while the opposite end has a releasable bond. When the closure is applied and the mechanical button moves towards the transparent panel, the pleated screen is clamped between the two with the result that the pleated screen is flattened and elongated rupturing the releasable bond so that once the closure is removed from the container and the button moves down away from the transparent panel, the pleated screen can collapse exposing the message indicia.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 1990Date of Patent: December 24, 1991Assignee: Continental White Cap, Inc.Inventors: Robert J. Patent number: 5072844Abstract: A reservoir cap includes a cylinder portion of molded resin and surrounding an outer circumferential surface of an opening portion of a reservoir body, and a flat portion unitarily formed on the cylinder portion and closing the opening portion of the reservoir body. A transparent film is insert-molded to the outer surface of the flat portion. Descriptive characters are formed at an inner surface of the film. The film is made from the same material as the flat portion. It is therefore possible to obtain a high adhesion between the film and the flat portion of the reservoir cap because they have the same melting point. Therefore, it is possible to provide an improved reservoir cap having descriptive characters which are easily seen from the outside thereof at the flat portion, while ensuring a high chemical resistance and a high durability against the operational fluid.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1991Date of Patent: December 17, 1991Assignee: Aisin Seiki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Toshihiro Nakano, Hitoshi Tauchi

Patent number: 5062541Abstract: A closure cap for an automotive fuel tank displays informational indicia on one or more flags which are caused to project from the periphery of the cap when the cap is twisted for removal from the tank filler tube. The cap is constructed with two coaxially mounted plate members which are rotatably moveable relative each other by the act of twisting the cap off or on the filler cap. The relative movement of the two plates is utilized to propel the flags back and forth between one position in which the flags are disposed substantially entirely within the periphery of the cap and another position in which the flags extend substantially beyond the periphery of the cap.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 1990Date of Patent: November 5, 1991Assignee: U-Haul International, Inc.Inventor: Vincent J.
