  • Patent number: 8763829
Abstract: A segmented collapsible container for containing a liquid and collapsing when no liquid is present. The container is segmented into a first portion, a second portion, and a third portion. The three segmented portions form a uniform annular sidewall, with each separate portion of the sidewall having a different thickness or material than the other portions. The middle second portion includes a relatively thinner break point in the sidewall to facilitate collapsing. It is this variation in rigidity and integrity of the sidewalls that allows the segmented collapsible container to collapse. The segmented collapsible container includes an airtight seal formed in the first portion that restricts fluids, such as but not limited to, air from entering or leaving the segmented collapsible container. Abstract: A storage and drinking container for pressurized beverages includes a drinking vessel 1 having a lip 3 and a lid formed from a cap 5 and retaining ring 12. The cap 5 seals with a surface 4 on the inside neck of the vessel and is retained in place by fingers 8 engaging under a lip 3. The fingers 8 are retained in position by a retaining ring 12. Cooperating sets of cammed surfaces 10 and 13 on cap 5 and ring 12 act on rotation of the ring to axially separate the ring 12 from the cap 5, releasing the fingers 8 from under the lip 3 and permitting the lid to be removed. A drinking vessel with a wide neck can be reliably sealed without the necessity to provide screw threads on the outer surface of the vessel 1.

Abstract: A bottle is assembled with an existing cap on its threaded neck to seal the contents in the bottle. A decorative top fits onto the existing cap and bottle for holding a decorative body, such as a figurine or the like, on a stem of the top. To open the bottle and use the decorative top, a removable rim comes off the top allowing it to be removed from the existing cap. The cap then twists off the bottle's neck and can be discarded. To reseal the bottle and allow drinking of its contents, the top with the removable rim detached threads onto the bottle's neck. A spout or valve of the top's stem can then be opened so contents of the bottle can be drunk from the stem.
