  • Patent number: 11242183
Abstract: The present disclosure describes speech or sound-emulating bottle cap apparatuses and systems and methods for manufacture thereof. It will be understood that a bottle cap prohibits gases from escaping a pressurized bottle. Ordinarily, when the cap is removed from the bottle, the escaping gas will emit a sound, but the sound carries no discernable meaning, cognizable message or recognizable sound (aside from gas simply escaping a pressurized container). Embodiments described herein harness gas escaping from a bottle (when the cap is removed) to generate a discernable meaning, cognizable message or otherwise recognizable sound. The sound-chamber may be wrapped or twisted into a coil or helix shape (in addition or as an alternative to miniaturizing it). A coil or helix shape permits recovery of the original sound quality of the initially modeled sound-chamber, resulting in “a sound-emitting cap-chamber” removably or permanently coupled to a bottle cap or bottle as described herein.

Abstract: A combination lid and straw for covering a drinking container has a lid, a straw having an interlocking portion, and at least one venting slot. The lid has a lid perimeter adapted to be attached to the drinking container, and a straw aperture having an inner surface. The interlocking portion of the straw is shaped to interlock with the straw aperture to resist movement of the straw relative to the lid. The venting slots are formed between the inner surface of the straw aperture of the lid, and the outer surface of the straw. Each of the venting slots has a diameter that is large enough to allow air to vent into the container, but small enough to restrict liquid from leaking from the container. The drinking straw has a proximal and distal end. One or both ends may be shaped to prevent a water droplet from leaking from the drinking straw.

In addition, the closure cap has means (20, 22) for puncturing the diaphragm which seals off the aperture piece of the container, which means (20, 22) interact with the drinking neck in such a way that, as the drinking neck (4) is pivoted, the diaphragm is punctured such that a connection is produced between the opening (4a) of the drinking neck and the container interior.

Abstract: A device that assists with equalizing air pressure within a bottle with the atmospheric air pressure as liquid is being poured from the bottle and includes one or more relatively short air tubes. The air tubes are situated with an upper inlet rim of the air tubes located flush with or relatively near the bottle rim. Whether an insert or integrated into the manufacture of a container, the one or more air tubes that extend partially into the container allow air to pass into the container as the liquid exits the container. The pressure equalizer not only minimizes or prevents the common glugging effect, but it allows liquid from a bottle to be poured smoothly at any angle and orientation. A cap incorporating a detachable pressure equalizer is also described.

Abstract: An improved no-spill cup construction and valve assembly. When not in use, an opening in the flexible material rests against a blocking element, sealing off the opening against the flow of liquid. The closed position provides an extremely secure seal against fluid leakage, such that inadvertent spills, such as by turning the cup upside down, are ineffective. The act of sucking at the cup spout creates negative pressure or a partial vacuum against the flexible material, lifting the opening off of the blocking element, and unblocking that opening. When the opening is unblocked, liquid can flow freely through the valve and spout.
