The removable median extension is open at a top and a bottom thereof is attached to the main bowl and is made of transparent plastic. The child resistant container comprises a durable and rugged reservoir and similarly durable locking cap. The cap is secured to the reservoir by a threaded, or bayonet-style connection. Once installed on the reservoir, the cap is prevented from being easily removed by a child, due to child resistant features integrated in the design of the cap and reservoir. Also, a method of reducing friction between the sealing surfaces of a sealed container. Specifically between the reservoir, cap and seal of a container, which allows easier closing of containers which require a simultaneous compression and twist motion to close.

A seal is adhered to the end wall of the cap and includes a continuous, first axial region extending outwardly from the inner surface of the cap. The seal first region is dimensioned for engagement with the opening in the container and sealing the container along an inner diameter thereof. Reduced on-torque/off-torque are required since the seal is formed on the inner diameter, and a down force is substantially reduced to assemble the cap to the container.

Abstract: A beverage container holding a beverage includes a cap that can be used to prevent contamination of a beverage between drinks. The cap is sized to fit over the foot of the beverage container for use as a non-slip coaster. The beverage container is shrink wrapped to retain the cap on the top of the beverage container. The shrink wrap includes a pair of vertically disposed perforations which facilitate opening of the beverage container. The shrink wrap also aids in keeping the beverage container sanitary by preventing contaminants from reaching surfaces of the beverage container.

The container includes a lip having a plurality of downwardly extending angled surfaces, each terminating in a recess, and a shoulder which defines an open top of the container. The closure includes a plurality of lugs which are configured to engage the angled surfaces when the closure is rotated and mate with the recesses to secure the closure in place. To secure the tabs in the recesses, the closure includes one or more springs which extend downwardly from the top of the closure and contact the shoulder of the container to urge the closure upwardly with respect to the container. To separate the closure and the container, the closure is pressed toward the open top of the container, thereby disengaging the lugs from the recesses and allowing the rotation of the closure to disengage the closure from the container.
