  • Patent number: 8178812
Abstract: A vacuum cartridge (1) is manufactured with a dielectric coating (22) made from elastomer directly on the enclosure of the chamber (2) of the cartridge (1). To prevent the elastomer from infiltrating into the chamber (2) of the cartridge and/or its enclosure from breaking, cover-plates (26) performing mechanical protection and dielectric deflection cover the covers (61, 62) of the chamber (2) and their braze (8) with the ceramic tube (4).

  • Patent number: 8049129
Abstract: A housing for a vacuum interrupter module that resists fracture when fasteners received therethrough are tightened, comprises an elongated hollow body from which a mounting flange extends from at least one end. Extending between the mounting flange and the body and/or coextensive with the mounting flange is a curved transition that maintains at least one curved recess, which partially surrounds corresponding mounting bores that are configured to receive suitable fasteners to mount the housing. Once mounted, the curved transition prevents stress forces imparted by the fasteners from deflecting the mounting flange, thereby inhibiting the formation of fractures therein.

  • Patent number: 7854058
Abstract: Methods for making and using vacuum switching devices are disclosed. A vacuum switching device has an operating rod for actuating a movable electrical contact within the device. The operating rod may be a hollow epoxy glass tube with an electrical sensor disposed within it, and there may be an elastomeric polymer filling compound disposed within the tube and encasing the sensor. The operating rod may be attached to the movable electrical contact on one end by a steel end-fitting that has been press-fit into the tube and secured with at least one cross pin. In this way, a very secure electromechanical connection may be made between the operating rod and the rest of the vacuum switching device, and the sensor is protected from shock associated with the operation of the device. Moreover, the vacuum switching device is compact and easy to construct.

Abstract: [Task] To prevent damage of a bellows, to reduce the size, and to prevent the global warming. [Means for solution] A dry air of a high pressure is enclosed in a ground tank 2. A movable-side contact case 8 is supported at one end in the ground tank 2, through an insulating support tube 5 and an insulating support member 7, and a fixed-side contact case 9 is supported at the other end in the ground case 2, through a support insulating member 6. A vacuum interrupter 10 is supported between the contact cases 8 and 9. Lower ends of conductors 35 and 15 are connected, respectively, with the contact cases 8 and 9, and upper ends of the conductors 35 and 15 are connected, respectively, with bushing terminals 20 and 21. Conductors 35 and 15 are surrounded, respectively, by bushings 16 and 17. The movable-side conductor 35 is tubular.

  • Patent number: 7832079
Abstract: The invention relates to a vacuum interrupter chamber and a method for producing the same according to the preambles of patent claims 1 and 3. In order here to improve a vacuum interrupter chamber of this type and a method for producing the same and the subsequent casting to the extent that the advantages described above are utilized but the disadvantages described are avoided, it is proposed according to the invention that, in preparation for later casting, the vacuum interrupter chamber (1) is provided on the outer surface with a protective sheath (2) consisting of an elastic or elastomeric or plastomeric material, which is applied to the surface of the vacuum interrupter chamber without further expanding mechanical aids by heat shrinkage alone.

Abstract: A method for production of a pole part of a medium-voltage switching device, and a pole part are provided. To obviate costly pressure reinforcements at least on the switching contact side of the vacuum interrupt chamber in the area of the mold core, while also achieving an optimum injection-molded result, a compensation ring is positioned, before the encapsulation process, as a separate injection-molded seal on or close to the external circumferential line of a vacuum interrupt chamber cover, between the lower cover of the vacuum interrupt chamber and the mold core. The positioned compensation ring is also encapsulated so as to remain in the encapsulation, and the mold core is then removed.
