    Abstract: An apparatus including a housing, wherein the housing defines a top wall formed with a series of aligned bores therethrough, each of the bores receiving a rechargeable battery powered hair salon utensil such as, a hair dryer, large diameter hair curling iron, small diameter hair curling iron, electric razor, etc., therewithin. A recharging plug is provided within each bore for providing recharging of each utensil. Optionally, the organization includes replacement battery packs selectively mounted to each utensil to ensure continuous use of each utensil. Further, a mirror structure is mounted rearwardly of a forward wall of the housing and nested therewithin and selectively retracted therefrom, wherein the mirror is heated by proximity to the recharging cells of the organization minimizing fogging of the mirror in use.

A main fiber optic cable associated with and extending from an on-off indicator light associated with the timer enhances visibility of the front panel of the housing during limited light conditions and communicates with other fiber optic cables providing visible framing of the side walls and top panel of the lid. A battery pack in the housing energizes the heating posts.

    Abstract: A hair curling iron and apparatus for heating same are provided. The hair curling iron is comprised of a pair of elongated heat conductive semi-cylindrical tubular barrels having an inner flat surface. The barrels have handles and are pivotally connected together whereby the flat surfaces of the barrels may be brought together enclosing hair between. When closed together, the outer shape of the barrels is round, around which the hair is wound to give a curling effect. The size of the barrels, however, is such that the curling iron can not be readily placed in the heating chamber of a conventional curling iron oven. Thus, the instant invention provides for a heat conducting plate having vertical heat conducting rods to be fixed to the top of the oven in heat transfer relationship therewith. The barrels of the curling iron are hollow and open-ended and fit over the heat-conducting rods whereby the curling iron may be heated.

    Abstract: A hair curling apparatus includes an adapter sleeve mounted to the end of the hot air delivery conduit of a hand-held hair dryer. A hot air delivery tube extends through the adapter sleeve and terminates in an apertured portion projecting forwardly of the sleeve. Rotatably mounted on the projecting portion is a circumferentially apertured and bristled hollow hair curling sleeve for effecting hair curling procedures. The hair curling sleeve includes a plurality of vanes in the interior thereof which react with the directed hot air flow through the apertured portion of the delivery tube to impart rotation to the hair curling sleeve. The adapter sleeve includes a manually operable valve for controlling the air flow through the delivery tube to the curling sleeve.

A box shaped projection (2) is located at the end of the cap arranged to be located adjacent the neck of a person. A blower (13) is positioned in the projection (2) and arranged to direct air into the cap. In the cap (1) the heating elements (8) are separated from ducts (15, 16) by a reflector (10). The reflector (10) contain air outlet orifices (9) spaced apart along the cap. Air is directed through the ducts (15, 16) along the length of the cap (1) and passes through the air outlet orifices (9) and toward the head of the person using the drier.

    Abstract: An infrared hair dryer has four infrared units positionable about the head. Two of the infrared radiating units are fixedly mounted to the top of a framework by a pair of conduits. Side infrared radiating units are mounted to each side of the framework by adjustable means to facilitate positioning of the side units relative to the head of a person whose hair is being dried. Each unit includes an infrared radiator of straight line configuration disposed between a reflecting mirror and a wire screen. A control panel with control circuitry is carried by the framework for relative positioning with respect therefore and is connected to the radiators by electrical conductor means which extend through the conduits. A sensor and indicator are carried by the framework as is a motorized blower unit for blowing air through appropriately formed louvers and towards selected locations. The heat sensor is adjustably mounted to serve as a reference point in adjusting the infrared units.

An electric circuit includes a first switch which is actuated directly by the reversing switch and a second switch which is actuated by the reversing switch after a predetermined time delay, preferably by an RC circuit.

Thereby hair wound around the outer surface of the heat dissipating portion of the heat pipe forming the bobbin is heated by the condensation of the vaporized working fluid within the heat pipe.

    Abstract: A hair appliance has a hair winding portion extending axially from the end of a handle covered by a flexible sleeve member adapted to be depressed in order to activate a movable part of the hair appliance. The hair appliance is of relatively uniform cross-section along its length and in the case of a curling iron provided with a hair retaining clip biased adjacent the barrel of the curling iron, the clip is provided with a longitudinal extension aligned with the body of the clip, with the extension overlying a recess in the handle and under the flexible sleeve member. The clip is opened by squeezing or depressing the flexible sleeve member to move the extension into the recess. In the case of a curling brush having a rotatable barrel, a similar construction results in the barrel locking mechanism being situated under the flexible sleeve member so that depression of the latter operates the locking mechanism.

An electrode ring surrounds the electrode pin and is electrically insulated therefrom and electrically connected to the other radiating U-shaped plates through a second contact plate.

A separate temperature sensor probe is utilized to detect the temperature produced by the heater at the hair during its treatment.

The flexible base is provided with indicia for indicating where the base and buses may be cut intermediate each adjacent pair of serpentine patterns so as not to destroy the continuity of the selected resistance heating circuits. A bendable, shape-retaining, cuttable wire along each longitudinal edge of the base outwardly of the parallel buses holds the wrapper in any desired shape. A longitudinally flexible flap integrally formed with at least one longitudinal edge of the base is foldable over the base to retain a hair tress between the base and flap during use of the wrapper.

The heating element is pressed onto the inner wall of the barrel by a resilient, longitudinally slotted tube, which has an initially larger diameter than that of the barrel and is inserted along with the heating element into the barrel by a special compressing tool.

    Abstract: A hair styling device includes a hair roller that defines a conical inner chamber open at its larger end and has a jacket containing a heat storing material, a cooperating heating spindle for heating the hair roller, the heating spindle having a conical outer surface matching the inner surface of the inner chamber of the hair roller, and biasing means for causing the hair roller to rise off the heating spindle. Hair roller holding means comprises a body of ferromagnetic material carried by the hair roller adjacent the smaller end of the conical chamber and a magnet, the body of ferromagentic material being movable into the holding range of the magnet when the hair roller is placed on the heating spindle to hold the conical surfaces of the chamber of the hair roller and the heating spindle in mating engagement.

The usual heat indicating spot provided on each roller may be applied to the exterior of the attachment. As an adjunct to the attachment an adaptor is provided to enable the attachment to be attached to hair dryers having barrels of different external diameters. A fan is preferably included in the attachment to assist in even distribution of heated air over the hair curling rollers.

    Abstract: A hairsetter designed to heat a plurality of hair rollers to a predetermined temperature is provided with a plurality of sockets each intended to receive a single hair roller having a pair of electrical plug members axially extending from one end of the roller. The plug members are tapered along substantially their entire length and are formed as extensions of parallel longitudinally extending heat sinks engaging the sides of a PTC resistance heating element within the hair roller. Each socket is provided with a pair of contact pins. The upper portion of each pin is accessible through the top of the socket and the lower portion thereof is in contact with an electric wire to conduct power to the pin. The contact pins are separated by diametrically opposed ribs which interact with the tapered plug members to cause the hair roller to be automatically rotated as it as inserted into the socket so as to cause the plug members to firmly engage the upper portion of the contact pins.

An external AC powered blower is provided with a mounting bracket that slips along tracks on the handle for easy engagement and disengagement. The dryer is configured generally rearwardly of the brush and blows air at an angle toward the brush.

The length of the tube is less than the length of the roller curler so that the opposite ends of the curlers are not heated so as to remain relatively cool whereby the heated curler can be easily handled.

The heater thus constructed is mounted on the barrel with the resistor elements thereof being exposed on the outer surface of the barrel in circumferentially spaced relationship with one another around the barrel, so that each of the resistor elements is in direct heat transfer contact with the hair to be wound on the barrel, thus greatly reducing the heat loss to assure effective heat transfer from the heater to the hair.

The screen and its beads of scent are protected during storage of the disk prior to use by two circles of foil removably mounted by means of adhesive onto the opposite sides of the disk's ring. The foils are removed just prior to fitting the disk onto a blow dryer. The disk is mounted over the mouth of the blow dryer, preferably by a cylindrical sheath of thin flexible latex, one end of which is attached to the outer surface of the disk's ring.
