Abstract: Device for conducting chemical operations, comprising a working chamber (1) delimited by a top (2), a bottom (3), side walls (4, 5) and a door, a microwave energy generator (6) for the chamber, and a reactor (7) having at least one neck (8) and resting in the chamber on a support (9). The chamber (1) is pierced by at least one passage (12) which permits connecting the neck (8) of the reactor (7) with a connection conduit (13) secured to an external device for conducting a chemical reaction. The chamber is also pierced by two other passages (15 and 16) adapted respectively to permit the connection of two other necks (17 and 18) to the reactor (7).

Abstract: A cast cup provided with a heating element is secured to the bottom plate of a reservoir for a percolator. The cup is inserted into an opening in the bottom plate of the reservoir and has an upper flange and a lower flange. The upper flange is secured to the top surface of the bottom plate by means of swaging. The seal is water-tight. The lower flange has a sealing compound applied to it and is sealed against the underside of the bottom plate when the upper flange is swaged to the top surface of the reservoir's bottom plate.
Abstract: A method for producing a metal-oxidic superconductor material with a high transition temperature and an increased critical current density. The method comprises applying a layer of a metal-oxidic preliminary product comprising the components of the metal-oxidic material, with a crystal structure still having faults, to a substrate, and subsequently, forming the desired superconducting metal-oxide phase by means of a heat and oxygen treatment, where a critical current density of the layer is greater parallel to the surface of the layer than in the direction of the normal of the layer, and wherein the preliminary product is moved through a heated zone parallel to the surface of the layer at a predetermined velocity, wherein the zone has a positive maximum temperature gradient (.DELTA.T/.DELTA.x) measured in the direction of motion, of at least 5 K/mm and preferably of at least 10 to 50 K/mm.
Abstract: A small foldable household appliance having an elevated body supported by a stand, and having a safety hinge by which the appliance can be locked in an unfolded operating position, and by which the appliance can be folded for storage by depressing small buttons on either side of the appliance.
Abstract: A hinged golf ball container for mounting over the speed control resistance elements of an electric golf cart having a bottom opening through which heated air from the resistance elements can pass. A ball supporting baffle within the container protects the golf balls from radiant heat and causes circulation of the heated air around the golf balls for raising the temperature thereof. A downwardly depending deflector assists in directing heated air surrounding the resistance elements into the golf ball container.
Abstract: A spacer for positioning intermediate the bottom of a beverage container and a planar heating surface of an electrically heated hot plate of a coffee maker is formed as a continuous heat conductive wire element positioned to rest immediately above and in contact with the planar surface to support a beverage container and to space said container a small distance above the heat source. The spacer may be fabricated of a stainless steel wire of suitable dimension such as one of approximately 1/16 of an inch in diameter, and may be bent in a form which provides uniform support for a coffee pot over the surface of the hot plate. The spacer is secured in place by means of lateral arms which are attached by means of a hinge to the base of the apparatus so that the spacer can be made to swivel upwardly about the hinge and out of the way to facilitate cleaning or to permit the option of nonuse of the spacer if so desired.
