With Choke Or Seal Patents (Class 219/741)
  • Patent number: 5861612
Abstract: A multimode electromagnetic wave energy rejection filter arrangement for a slot waveguide includes at least one system of series coupled LC-circuits located, at least partly, within a cavity of the slot waveguide and arranged along a predetermined line intersecting the wave vectors of electromagnetic waves to be rejected, the LC-circuits including lumped elements and the coupling between the LC-circuits being substantially weak. The LC-circuits may be located, at least partly, within grooves formed in a wall of the slot waveguide. As applied to a heating apparatus employing high frequency electromagnetic wave energy or microwave energy for heating dielectric materials, the series coupled LC-circuits are arranged along a closed line which envelopes the access opening in a body of a multimode resonator heating chamber, in which the high frequency electromagnetic wave energy is employed for heating.

  • Patent number: 5789724
Abstract: An oven door has an RF choke, an outer choke cover, first and second inner choke cover members, and a contaminant barrier The RF choke has a first side which is oriented away from a cooking chamber of an oven, and the RF choke has a second side which is oriented toward a cooking chamber of an oven. The outer choke cover abuts the first side of the RF choke. The first inner choke cover member has a gasket, and the first inner choke cover member is microwave safe. The contaminant barrier abuts the gasket of the first inner choke cover member. The second inner choke cover member abuts the contaminant barrier so that the contaminant barrier is sandwiched between the first and second inner choke cover members. The second inner choke cover member is microwave safe.

  • Patent number: 5708259
Abstract: An output door mechanism for a microwave decomposition machine allows a rotating tank to be coupled to a fixed waveguide with both a vacuum and a microwave seal. The fixed waveguide delivers microwave power to the rotating tank in a decomposition machine. A moveable end cover joins the rotating tank to the fixed waveguide providing the rotating tank with a vacuum and microwave seal during the decomposition of material and discharge of the tank after the decomposition has been completed. The output door mechanism uses a rolling bearing to form a rolling seal, a sliding bearing to form a sliding seal, and a metallic bellows to form a flexible seal. A plunger compresses a spring to seal the end cover to the rotating tank. When the plunger no longer applies compressive force to the spring the end cover separates from the rotating tank to allow discharge of the decomposed material.

  • Patent number: 5429799
Abstract: This invention describes a microwave decomposition machine and method to decompose and sterilize medical waste material using high energy density microwaves, 60 Kilowatts or greater. The medical waste is well stirred and there is no damage of the cavity due to arcing during the process. The decomposition process takes place in a sealed oxygen free atmosphere of 1.0% or less oxygen thereby preventing the discharge of any medical waste gases into the atmosphere. The microwave decomposition machine can be mounted on a vehicle for easy transport to the source of the medical waste material.
