Abstract: A modular portable storage container system includes a first container section and a second container section, each of the first and second container sections having a structural frame. A blocking frame is sized and shaped to fit within a vehicle cargo compartment. A latch mechanism selectively retains the structural frame of each of the first and second container sections in contact with the blocking frame. A position sensor is in communication with a position indicator. The position sensor detects a position of the first and second container sections relative to the blocking frame. The position indicator indicates a position of the first and second container sections relative to the blocking frame. A plurality of casters affixed to a bottom surface of the first and second container sections allows the first and second container sections to roll over the floor.

Abstract: A system for protecting temperature sensitive products. The system comprises a cover that fits over a product. The cover has a first component, a second component, and a closure system. The first component covers the top of the product and at least a portion of a first side of the product, and the second component covers at least a portion of the other sides of the product. The closure system closes openings between the first component and the second component and tightens the cover around the product. The cover is removable from the product by releasing the closure system and pulling the second component of the cover in a horizontal or downward direction away from the first side of the product.

Abstract: Devices and methods of a pod that deploys from an aircraft or vehicle and descends to safely land. The pod is configured to be attached to an aircraft or vehicle. The pod includes walls that extend around and form a contained interior space that houses one or more travelers or cargo containers. During flight of the aircraft or vehicle, the pod deploys from the aircraft or vehicle while at an elevation above ground. A landing location is determined for the pod. While the pod is descending, the pod is steered towards and lands at the landing location.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to an air cargo container formed from a plurality of fiber-reinforced (e.g., carbon fiber) composite panels. The use of fiber reinforcement provides for an increased strength-to-weight ratio as compared to existing air cargo containers. Furthermore, the present invention also includes air cargo containers having convex side panels, which decreases the chance of damage to the container or to its contents in the event of an impact. The air cargo container is collapsible, with panels able to be stacked for more efficient storage.

The cargo container includes a first sidewall including a first length and a second sidewall including a second length extending transversely from the first sidewall. Abstract: An approach for controlling light exposure of a light sensitive object is described. Aspects of this approach involve using a first set of radiation sources to irradiate the object with visible radiation and infrared radiation. A second set of radiation sources spot irradiate the object in a set of locations with a target ultraviolet radiation having a range of wavelengths. Radiation sensors detect radiation reflected from the object and environment condition sensors detect conditions of the environment in which the object is located during irradiation. A controller controls irradiation of the light sensitive object by the first and second set of radiation sources according to predetermined optimal irradiation settings specified for various environmental conditions. In addition, the controller adjusts irradiation settings of the first and second set of radiation sources as a function of measurements obtained by the various sensors.

The first and second wings are spaced apart longitudinally and vertically. The pylon joints the first wing and second wing at the tip to form the box-wing. The pylon includes heading control rudder. Secured to the wing or pylon or both wing and pylon, an overhead boom extending longitudinally to support a plurality of lift rotors or tiltable rotors for VTOL flight. Finally, the overhead boom mounted tiltable rotors propel the vehicle forward to generate lift from the wings. Furthermore, the wings are equipped with elevators and ailerons for flight control.

Abstract: A louvered sidewall cargo container assembly for reducing crosswind exposure includes a cargo container, which is substantially cuboid shaped and comprises a pair of sidewalls, a front, a back, a bottom, and a roof. Each sidewall comprises a plurality of louvers. An actuator is engaged to the cargo container and is operationally engaged to each of the plurality of louvers. The actuator is positioned to selectively motivate each of the louvers between a first position a second position. In the first position, the louver is substantially perpendicular to the bottom and each of the plurality of louvers is in a closed configuration. In the second position, the louver is transverse or parallel to the bottom, extends into the cargo container, and each of the pluralities of louvers is in an open configuration. In the open configuration, the pluralities of louvers allow passage of a crosswind through the cargo container.

The support panel may have a length proximate to a distance between the first support beam and the second support beam.

Abstract: Systems and methods for removeably adding a cargo bay floor to the interior cargo bay of cargo aircraft bay are disclosed. The system includes a rail disposed in a cargo bay of a cargo aircraft with the rail extending longitudinally along both a length of a forward portion and an aft portion of the fuselage. The system includes a cargo floor segment configured to be removeably attached to the rail. When attached, the cargo floor segment can transform between a first arrangement with the cargo floor segment translatable along the rail, and a second arrangement with the cargo floor segment fixedly secured to a location along the rail. The cargo floor segment is configured to, when secured to the rail, define a section of a floor of the cargo bay of the cargo aircraft. Multiple floor segments can be used together to form a continuous floor for the aircraft.

Abstract: A customisable, modular storage system is described where goods are stored in containers and the containers are stored in stacks. The stacks are contained within towers formed of stacks of bin receiving units. A grid network of tracks is provided on the top of the bin receiving units upon which load handling devices run. The load handling 30 devices take containers from the stacks and deposit them at alternative locations in the stacks or deposit then at stations where goods may be picked out.

The crate may include swinging panels that are releasably secured to the second frame when the crate is in a storage position and rotatable about a swinging axis at the first frame to move the crate into a collapsed position. The system may include an interior data collection component configured to collect transportable article data representing one or more transportable articles in the vehicle, a plurality of article protections components configured to protect the one or more transportable articles when deployed, and one or more processors configured to determine, by processing the transportable data, one or more characteristic(s) and/or trait(s) of the one or more transportable articles; select a subset of the plurality of article protection components to deploy based on the one or more characteristic(s) and/or trait(s) of the one or more transportable articles; and deploy the selected subset of the plurality of article protection components to protect the one or more transportable articles.

Abstract: A receptacle storage unit, or bin has surfaces for retaining four smaller waste receptacles, or carts therein. The receptacle storage unit is formed on a pallet base with three lateral sides, and an open front through which the receptacles are removed and replaced once full. The receptacle storage unit includes two opposing walls between which two receptacles are held. At the top of the receptacles, they are held by surfaces on the opposite edges of the handle against the walls. At the bottom of the receptacles, the receptacles are held by edges at the outside of the wheels. In a central part of the receptacle, a frame of the receptacle storage unit holds the central part of the receptacle. The receptacle storage unit has surfaces and flanges enabling multiple units to be stacked on top of one another.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a shelving unit has first and second sides, a frame, and a barrier. The frame defines a storage bay between the first and second sides, a first opening at the first side, and a second opening at the second side. The second opening receives a storage bin therethrough and into the storage bay. The first opening receives inventory items therethrough and into the storage bin when the storage bin is disposed in the storage bay. The barrier moves between (i) an open position, where the first opening is open to the storage bay so as to allow inventory items to be passed therethrough and into the storage bin, and (ii) a closed position, where the barrier at least partially obstructs at least one of the first and second openings so as to impede a human from reaching through the storage bay when the storage bin is removed.
