  • Patent number: 10059486
Abstract: A shipping container for transporting bulk particulate material includes an outer container and an inner container with tapered sides that taper or narrow downward towards a bottom portion of the inner container. As a vacuum removes particulate material from at the bottom portion of the inner container, material higher up in the outer container and/or inner container funnels downward towards a central region at the bottom portion of the inner container and near the mouth of the vacuum tube or hose, filling a void created by the extracted material that is drawn up the tube or hose. The inner container provides a continuous flow of material to the vacuum hose or tube and a more complete emptying of the container, without having to tilt the shipping container or move the vacuum hose or tube in the shipping container.

  • Patent number: 8002134
Abstract: In one embodiment, an intermodal cargo container includes a lid section having a rectangular box with an open bottom portion. A floor unit has a channel portion arranged around a periphery, and the channel portion receives a bottom edge of the lid section. Locking mechanisms are arranged along an edge of the lid section to couple the lid section to plural rungs that extend across the channel portion. The sliding lock mechanism includes engagement tabs that engage associated rungs extending between two walls of the channel portion. A sealing portion is provided within the channel so as to provide a fluid-tight seal when the lid section is coupled to the floor unit. A powered actuator can assist in moving the lock mechanism. A spring assembly at a corner of the floor unit provides a spring tension to the sliding lock mechanism.

  • Patent number: 7950920
Abstract: A combustion device in the form of a paraffin stove (10) comprises a fuel reservoir (12), a burner (14), stand pipe (16) which extends between the reservoir (12) and the burner (14) and a stove top (18). The reservoir (12) comprises a rigid, air-tight outer container (22) and a deformable bladder (25) for holding paraffin (27) which is located within the container (22). The bladder has an outlet (44) which is connected to the stand pipe (16). A conduit (51) which can be connected to a source of compressed air is connected to the container (22) for pressurizing the container (22) to exert a force on the bladder (25) sufficient to cause the paraffin to be delivered to the burner (14) where it is ignited to produce a flame.

Abstract: A method for the filling and optionally emptying transport containers with plastics granular materials is disclosed. A flexible plastics inliner is inserted into a transport container. A front side of the inliner includes at least one receiving flexible hose connection for filling the inliner with plastics granular material, at least one discharge hose connection for discharging blown in conveying air from the inliner, and at least one emptying hose connection for emptying plastics granular material from the inliner. The front side of the inliner also includes a protective liner. The cabin and the transport container are positioned at a decanting station, the cabin being adapted to transfer plastics granular material from the decanting station and decant the transferred plastics granular material into the transport container through the receiving hose connection. The transport container is then filled with plastics granular material utilizing the cabin.

  • Publication number: 20100270297
Abstract: Systems and methods for protected transportation of agricultural commodities to preserve quality and prevent moisture damage of the commodities due to increase in moisture content or to condensation during shipping in containers are provided. The protected transportation is accomplished through the use of a thin, lightweight hermetic liner inside a shipping container. The liner is sealed at a first end and open at a second end, and the liner is positioned within the shipping container with the sealed first end at a back end of the shipping container and the second open end at a front, open end of the shipping container. A top portion of the liner is held to the ceiling of the shipping container via an attachment mechanism or via inflation of the liner and/or ribs in the liner. The bagged or bulk commodity is introduced through the open end and into the liner. The liner is then hermetically sealed, and the container is closed. After shipping, the agricultural commodity may be removed by unsealing the liner.
